Don't worry 'bout it. Happens to the best of us

On an off note is it just me or do I find it odd that this forum says No Spoilers Allowed, and yet one of the sticky threads has spoilers?
Not large spoilers though really are they?

MerinTB, what was that game you postede the pic from with the girl in shorts and the enemy with the huge target on it?
I did a search for a PS1 game I had always wanted to try, Parasite Eve, and that's a good picture I found to compare to one of the DAO pics I found.

Anyway to call an end to this thread Planescape Torment is the best roleplaying game ever made. This my chaps is a true fact.
I dunno - I'll have to give it a 4th try, but I simply have been unable to get into PST. Granted, it took 5-6 tries before I finished the NWN OC ... but, hey, I still dislike that game, so ...
I'm not even a big Ultima fan, but I think the Ultima series may very well deserve best CRPG, if not best video game RPG.

A lot of people are saying, "It's a single player game, does not matter about class balance", to me at least, it does matter.
The contrasts between mages and other classes in terms of combat power is so high that you no longer need to be picking your companions based on any tactical aspects. Just get your three mages game going all the way through.
Other than this, I think DAO is a good game.

Agreed Planescape Torment is by far an almost perfect game and by far is the best RPG I've ever played to date.

Any of the Terry Brooks books, Lord of the Rings, a few other authors.
I know I'm a member of a minority here, but I find the LotR books to be borderline unreadable.
Terry Brooks is hit or miss for me - the Knight of the Word stuff was ok.
Might I suggest some Glenn Cook, the Black Company series, for those who like more militaristic fantasy -
and the Myth series by the recently departed Robert Asprin for those who like some humor and the road movie schtick.
I actually enjoyed the Dragon Age novels as well.

And you have been playing BG for years? Why are you complaining? Sounds like you need a new video card bro, don't flame because you don't know specs :/
Are you overheating? DEFINE graphical flaw, wtf is that? You mean video tearing? Texture gapping? What?
Gawd I can't stand these trolls who don't define problems to help others help them.
Oh, and Maker forbid I ask you who says, "the most sick party I can make is 3 mage and a theif"

Mostly I stick to old British crime books that are based around or are true stories. I find it interesting how old cons were pulled off and what not.

For someone who prides himself on his SIGINT and IMINT work, and his ability to notice bull****, I would think you'd have a better grasp on the implied distinction between game spoilers and novel spoilers.

Stay away from The Worm Orobouros, then.
...
You should also stay away from the Gor novels, and not just due to subject matter. The language is... well, odd. As in, out of everyone I know (including some people so enraptures with the world of Gor that they literally attempt to live by it's tenets IRL), I am the only person who can stand the style of Norman's writing.

Baldurs Gate 1 was a 9 and Baldurs Gate 2 was at the least a 9.5.
BG1 > BG 2 by far. I was never a fan clicking giant towns or forts on an area map and then being there.

They are downright amazing on my rig...
1. Only way to get enough money in the game to get a lot of the great items of the game is to be a Dwarf Nobel, and sell everything to Gorim. Sure if you play on normal or casual you save money but I'm not looking for easy. Lets not forget its MORE expensive to create a potion than it is to buy one (WTF).
This is wrong. Period. The money flows just fine if you craft potions using components. its Way less expensive. I've done two play throughs one crafting them and one buying them. I was much richer crafting them.

Tolkien was NOT a good story teller. He was a very good linguist and told an OK story. But he had no sense of pace, when to go on an aside or tangent or flashback, and no idea whatsoever how revolting people being overly 'fond' of people that resemble small children really are...

Baldur's Gate 2 was a giant piece of failure.
PlaneScape: Torment was the least game of any game I've ever played.
DAO > everything else atm.
It's worthy of being called NWN2. [smilie]http://i.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/emoticons/emot-smug.gif[/smilie]

However I am of the opinion that Dragon Age would have been better with Halflings. Halflings make everything better. Yes, they do. Especially when they bring their own drugs.
