I didn't read your post. You might have noticed that i stopped replying to the racist. That's because i only talk to pleasant people.

If you could refrain from making petty little jabs and cut back on the name-calling, i'd be more likely to pay attention to what you have to say.

Go cast your vote. Stop trying to tell people not to vote because their vote doesn't match yours. If you want to form your own movement to vote on polls no one is stopping you. I respect that you have an opinion, please respect that I have mine.

I refuse to vote on principle. My hope is that by keeping the pro-ending numbers artificially low, BioWare will realise that something is amiss.

Really? Because you seem to be pretty busy in just about any thread relating to the retake movement or ending, taking petty jabs at everyone.

Sorry I didn't realise voting in some polls only once was underhanded.

Then you choose not to be heard. I don't think one vote would make the poll artificially low. Once again, stop trying to tell people not to vote because their vote doesn't match yours. If you want to form your own movement to vote on polls no one is stopping you.

Seriously, blacqout, you think there is some sort of conspiracy against the pro-ending people because they're losing? I'm sorry, but almost everything that has been put up anywhere online has shown that the people who do not like the endings are the majority. Unless you want to start up an investigation into all of the people voting you have absolutely no way of making a statement like this and not sounding ridiculous.

"Obama won the election! Its all the media elite, out to get real Americans!"
"Retake won the poll! Its all the Hold The Line drones, out to get real BioWaricans!"

82% say they should change.

Its strange People are always talk about we are Minority. I never saw any Vote where the Most People want the End not to Change. Very curious.

Well, you know. I can't win this conventionally.

It's not about winning a poll. It's about making it clear that the polls are worthless.

Hey chaps, I thought you might find it interesting that our little thread here has disgusted blacquot sufficiently to write the following entry in his blog:

blacqout wrote...

Retake Mass Effect 3.

In the words of Pitne For, they’re a scummy bunch… even by whiny gamer standards.

After the people at Penny Arcade wished to distance themselves from the Retake movement, many members actually demanded the money they donated to Childs Play, a kids charity, back.

This in itself is disgusting, but the unfortunate truth is that it’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Having spent some time on the BioWare forums, i’ve noticed that many threads pop up linking to opinion polls on various other websites. These are attempts to rally the troops to manipulate the results of public surveys.

Sickeningly, some members often point out that by clearing your cache you can vote unlimited times, or other underhanded means with which to give the illusion that more people are unhappy with the way the game
ended than is actually the case.

It is also curious that although the Retake movement claims to have over 50,000 members, only a fraction actually donated to the Childs Play charity. We know that they lie and cheat when it comes to online polls, so it’s quite apparent that they also use similarly nefarious means to bolster their numbers.

The point is that the Retake movement is fraught with fraudsters and pond life, and cannot be trusted.

Also, i’ve read some of the Mass Effect fanfiction, and the thought of the most rabid fans having any control over the direction of the story frightens me.

Um... so I guess, victory of sorts?

(Ivan)

There is no winning a poll, you cast a vote and let others vote. Working as intended.

Once again, stop trying to tell people not to vote because their vote doesn't match yours. If you want to form your own movement to vote on polls no one is stopping you.

I haven't told anyone to not vote. I just explained how you doing so invalidates any poll as an accurate portrait of the opinions of the total Mass Effect 3 player base.

Until someone has proof (as in collected, analyzed and verified data) that the Retake movement's numbers are indeed lower than they appear, announcing it with the degree of certainty I see here has the same level of maturity as 8-year-olds calling each other names.

On a different note, I'm Russian too. Please, stop with the Ivan thing, it's a little tacky.
And blacqout, I ask you to stop with the "anti-US" comments, it's tacky too.

No, I'm sure you're much more intelligent. Its still bizarre that you can see 82% of over 7,000 voters and think that its somehow a conspiracy. Surely, a good number of those people are those who just happened to come across the poll? Or aren't even involved with Retake? I know I'm not. I've jokingly said "Hold the Line" a few times but I haven't joined any organizations or sent money to Child's Play.

I'm literally just a player who got to the ending as was supremely disappointed. I'm so sad to see this epic trilogy - some of the greatest writing of our generation - go out on such a sour note. And it might never be rectified. Maybe it will. I'm just a hopeful fan and a disgruntled consumer.

Does that make me a drone? Does that make you a drone of the "pro-ender" movement? Not at all. We're all just individuals who are very passionate about this series one way or the other. I apologize for comparing you to idiots, we should all be much more civil about this.

Unless we have some way of really knowing perhaps we should stray away from insulting one another or insinuating things like what has been tossed around in this thread? In the end we are all in this together, we all love these games and many, many of us have been fans of BioWares for a very long time. One way or the other, we are all sad to see the finale of this series cause such controversy. I'm sure we can all agree we would have loved this series to end with all of the fans sitting back and saying, "YES!"

Because i'm looking at the bigger picture and taking the thoughts of those that haven't publically given them into consideration.

A majority of people polled dislike the ending or just want a new one, however we should not forget about those that played and enjoyed the game but just don't care enough to hop online and tell us about it. And it's not unreasonable to assume that a majority of the silent players either liked the ending or were apathetic towards it.

People are far more likely to get vocal if they're upset, that's just documented human behaviour.

If a poll could be conducted without being spoken about on this forum or on the Retake movement's boards (if they have them) it would paint a much more accurate picture.
