I didn't insult anybody. I just pointed out what was happening, and why the various polls do not offer an accurate representation of the thoughts of the totaly Mass Effect fanbase.

Not once have i lowered myself to the level of my detractors.

Reposting just so everyone can see it again

Retake Mass Effect 3.In the words of Pitne For, they’re a scummy bunch… even by whiny gamer standards.
After the people at Penny Arcade wished to distance themselves from
the Retake movement, many members actually demanded the money they
donated to Childs Play, a kids charity, back.
This in itself is disgusting, but the unfortunate truth is that it’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Having spent some time on the BioWare forums, i’ve noticed that many
threads pop up linking to opinion polls on various other websites. These
are attempts to rally the troops to manipulate the results of public
surveys.
Sickeningly, some members often point out that by clearing your cache
you can vote unlimited times, or other underhanded means with which to
give the illusion that more people are unhappy with the way the game
ended than is actually the case.
It is also curious that although the Retake movement claims to have
over 50,000 members, only a fraction actually donated to the Childs Play
charity. We know that they lie and cheat when it comes to online polls,
so it’s quite apparent that they also use similarly nefarious means to
bolster their numbers.
The point is that the Retake movement is fraught with fraudsters and pond life, and cannot be trusted.
Also, i’ve read some of the Mass Effect fanfiction, and the thought
of the most rabid fans having any control over the direction of the
story frightens me..

That was posted on my blog, and slightly before this thread was even posted.

It was mostly in response to finding out that some of you were demanding your money back from that Childs Play thing, and the thread from yesterday in which several Retakers spoke of clearing caches, etc.

You did accuse the Retake mass effect movement of creating multiple logins to artificially inflate their numbers, based on little or no evidence.

Thats pretty insulting

I don't think too highly of the movement and have given my reasons.

Most of you are decent, i'm sure, but in light of this Penny Arcade thing the brand has been tarnished, as it were.

Instead of attacking those of us that liked the ending, you should focus on distancing yourselves from those that drag the Retake movement down.

If you're going to not respond to me, that's fine (it's not like i feel compelled to respond to many of you - even when talking directly to me) but would you mind not talking about me as though i'm not here.

It's petty, vindictive and borders on bullying behaviour. I've remained more pleasant than most, and your childish name calling is not becoming.

And... yeah. When you write dissenting views off as being fabricated to mildly annoy a web community, it's not hard to see yourself as the majority.

Sorry buddy, I'll be taking my own advice on this one.

In other news: I too, voted yes on the poll! I think it's time to get this thread back on track. ^_^

So you did insult quite a few people with your sweeping generalisations.

As nice as it would be to excise the minority of the group who act like asses with regard to the making personal attacks on bioware and attacking the charity, its impossible to do so. I agree, it is good to distance oneself, but impossible to stop them having their say (thats for the forum mods to do)

To malign a whole group of people because of the actions of a minority within it is not particularly good way to act.

Some of us are acting childish no doubt, but the core of the group remains patient and civil. Those who are out there raging, making baseless accusation and getting troll baited don't represent us as a whole. The generalisations could stand to end on both sides.

No, i did no such thing.

Nothing that i said in this thread could reasonably be construed as though i was referring to the whole movement. You have a vocal minority within your vocal minority, and i'll speak about them if i like.

Man I wish people would read the forum rules , it quite clearly states

Rule 3: Everyone wishing to post on BSN must do so disrobed, also with cookies.

(Disclaimer: Open txt file on my desktop marked "forum rules" and actual BSN forum rules may differ)

Looks like the people who like the ending/don't want it changed are the vocal minority :-)

Yet another example of the Retake movement troops being mobilised to manipulate an opinion poll.

There is nothing stopping you and all the pro-enders from going and voting as well. It is a democracy  you know, at least on this level or things.
