Oh joy. I guess after the sexism and homophobia, it's time for the racism to show itself.
Personally I like that he has a different accent and doesn't sound like every other American/Canadian/British accented person in the ME galaxy.
Jesus Christ, it's just a joke, people need to relax a little.

"...A few minutes!"
"No. The bunker is falling. There is no other option!"
"There are pods online, those soldiers are still alive!"
"Their sacrifice will be honored in the coming Empire. Preparing neutron bombardement, get to your lifepod, now!"
^This and how he dragged his dead comrade when Victory was sealing the bulkhead gave me the feeling that this was a desperate but honourable (in his own way) soldier who was fighting a losing battle. You could see the conflict inside him, he wanted to do more but yeah....you don't argue with a VI who is seconds away from frying the entire base to a smoking cinder.
I sure loved Javik thorougly, frankly I hope we can see some future DLC that expands on his story and the Protheans - they've always been fascinating to me

Lighten up, Francis. I didn't see any racist jokes or slurs being uttered here. Therefore, there was no racism.

And I think it's bloody awesome he's got a West African accent, but that's just me. I loved his voice actor too, though his name escapes me. His character and him being basically the other Cycle's Commander Shepard was awesome, and his surly manner.
And the fact that he looked like a Collector helped. Overall he was pretty fly.

I agree with this statement. I expected them to be some kind of peaceful, benevolent race, but they were anything but that which made them so much more interesting, I also like Javik as a character, and he was awesome in combat.
(meh, effed up last post) Not to mention the particle rifle was one of the coolest weapons in the game.

Oh my God people, get some education. He doesn't have a "Jamaican" accent, he has a West African accent. Maybe it's because I'm West African myself and I can hear it easily, but seriously, stop with the Jamaican stuff.

His look is consistent w the collectors. The picture in the codex would have required a lot more explanation.
.
Javik already explained that all the races "dominated" by the Protheans were referred to as "protheans", so the statue from which that pic is taken from it is probably from one of the other Prothean races.
(Even thoguh the look like husks -.-)

I honestly thought Javik was being played by that actor Djimon Hounsou. It sounded just like him.
According to IMDB, it's Ike Amadi. He also did a voice in SC2.
