Sebastian the crab from the Little Mermaid is what I thought at first. There are even some funny photoshops of him as well. I thought it was odd, but when I got him in the game it was fine. Especially since we didn't know anything about the Protheans dialect and how they spoke.
What did you think when you first saw/heard Javik?

i thought javek would be shepard 1.0.
its impossible to assume what they are going to do with something like a prothean but i thought it would be someone that knew enough to steer shepard in the right direction. like a guide for shepard. maybe somehow linked to him through the visions he sees from the beacon.
i dont enjoy javik at all. hes a ****** who i feel does me no good on my squad. even liara doesnt care about javik and shes a prothean expert for christ sakes.

After all the video sequences leading up to reviving him all I could think is: "I'm getting a Prothean Ren-Shep.....HELL YEAH!"

Just thought I'd chime in and say that Javik's voice actor is Ike Amadi - a Nigerian. A lot of hubbub on here about Jamaican accents, which is really weird to me. But I'm Nigerian myself so I thought the accent was kind of obvious lol.
I kind of laughed uncontrollably when Javik first spoke because I thought it was Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje, the guy who played Adebisi on Oz. And yes, I copy-pasted that name. As for his character, I thought he was pretty awesome. I'll admit, I didn't like him at first (reminds me of a cousin of mine who is a bit of a jerk) but when you view his character in the context of being a Prothean born when the Reapers already invaded you start to see him differently.

He sends really funny letters on the ME3 Datapad-app =) damn it, can find my iPod right now, seen two from him so far and laughed at both of them.

My thoughts were: "we're gonna rock down to Electric Avenue and then we'll take it higher"
even though he doesn't sound Jamaican to me but how the hell I should know? I even have an accent of my own..
But seriously though.. his voice/accent didn't bother me at all but that could be because English isn't my mothertongue.. dunno really.

While I loved Javik, the complexity and depth of his arc and his growing acceptance of his and his societies flaws, I found him hard to take seriously because for some reason I get Zoidbergs voice in my head when I see him.

I was a little underwhelmed at first, but after hearing his conversations with the other crew members, I loved the guy.

My reaction was basically the same as Liara's. I was expecting some scientist guy.
That said, he was one of my favorite characters. I wish they would have spent more time and made him a bigger part of the main story rather than a DLC.

I liked his voice. Very cool to be honest and fitting in a way. Since on earth all human life is traced to africa anyway it kind of had a nice symmetry to it.
The looks were okay (as they based on the Collectors). I thought he was a great party member and took him along quite often to get his input. Thessia alone is awesome with him. He also stated that it was a shame what happened to the Quarians, as they were thought to be universally pretty. (or something like that).
So on the whole - cool party member.

To begin with I was taking him everywhere, because I felt more than any of the crew he deserved to fight this fight (this did somewhat suck the magic out of the thessia beacon scene, changing it from a Raiders of the Lost Ark "whao" type thing into "Yep, there's one of our computers, you know how to boot one of those?") . But towards the end, and especially with his final dialogue it became clear it was no longer his story. That was really wonderful.ladyshara wrote...

His interactions with Liara are gold, and those two together on Thessia was pretty awesome. Find it interesting to see how Liara goes from giddy to slowly realizing that the protheans were not the what she thought that they would be.

I was a tiny bit disappointed, but then the last video before he wakes up shows up and he earned some badass points
Victory- "You will be the voice of our people"
Javik- "I will be more than that."
