What did you think when you first saw/heard Javik?

On topic: I think sounding Nigerian makes a bit of sense, if at least symbolically. The one thing I think about when it's about Africa is the cradle of life (and all the fossils found there-not to mention poverty but that's for another topic).

It is definitely, certainly, absolutely, without a doubt NOT Jamaican! Those accents sound NOTHING alike!

I thought there really must be more containers like his. I mean, seriously, 1 living Prothean out of how many? and his container was not even stored on Ilos. And then he has a "memory tablet", how many of those things are on Ilos?! we should go back there and have Javik remembering everything there is to remember and then share the ancient knowledges.
Well, first, all the Protheans in the bins on Ilos are dead. The living ones went through the Conduit and shut down the signal to open the Citadel after the last Reaper left. Vigil says he had to discontinue life support on the non-essential personnel as time passed and his energy reserves dwindled. The memory tablet thing though is possible.
The bigger question is, if Vigil didn't have enough power to preserve all but a handful of pods through the end of the Prothean cycle, how did Javik's power source stay active for 50,000 years.

His accent is West African. Most likely Nigerian, as they're the most populous West African country in the world. Possibly Ghanian.

Well, they obviously do or people wouldn't confuse them. I haven't been exposed to enough African accents to differentiate them from Jamaican, but that accent is definitely similar to Jamaican based on my experience. Maybe with a little more exposure I'd be able to tell the difference better. It's nice to get clarity, but cut people some slack. Sorta like the British/Australian thing. I've heard the two enough to know the difference, but Australian derives from British, so they have a core similarity. I'm pretty sure the roots of the Jamaican accent are in Africa, after all.

True enough. If people don't have the ear for it, or haven't heard a West African accent so don't know what it sounds like, they may assume it's something else.
It just irks me because I've heard both accents for a long time, and to me it's as if they were speaking two different languages. People saying Javik has a Jamaican accent might as well be saying Javik is speaking French. But point taken.

Maybe Vigil tried to keep to many running in the beginning? If there is only one pod kept active, well, the battries lasts much longer. Don't remember too well but didn't Vigil try to keep enough to start a new civilization. Hmm... to long since I played ME so I'm getting a little rusty on the details =)
