Where is the seashell quote from?
If you talk to Mordin in the Normandy's med bay he talks about retiring to a beach somewhere and collecting seashells. You tell him he'll get bored in an hour. He says he might run tests on the seashells. Then, on Tuchanka, when he's getting ready to go up the Shroud, he says "Would have liked to have run tests on the seashells" among other things.

Can you get Mordin's "I made a mistake" line without going full-on renegade?
I mean still cure the genophage and all that?
Yes, it is a renegade interrupt to take the shot.
Damnit!
I want the line, but I don't want to kill him

I saw it with Wreave in charge instead of Wrex, Eve is alive, and the genophage cure was preserved from ME2, but Shepard has to try to convince Mordin to let the plan fail. After Mordin gets angry, Shepard has one more chance to decide the outcome by letting Mordin go, or stopping him.

You misunderstand: You can get the line and then refuse to take the Renegade quicktime pull to fire the shot after he turns around

Yup, the only requirement for getting this line is to keep the secret about the sabotage until you're actually at the Shroud and then let him know at that point. Then, say it was because you need the Salarians. You'll get the line and you can still let him release the cure, but you miss out on some of his other lines.

Great. I consider that line to be the highlight of the entire series, so in a perfect playthrough I would like to have that moment, but still cure the genophage and have Mordin sacrifice himself. Glad there is a chance to do that

I teared up after the "I don't know if we'll make it through this, but if Turian Heaven and Human Heaven are the same, I'll meet you at the bar." and "You were born to do this, Shepard. Go out there and give 'em hell."
I suppose I'm biased, I've had Garrus with me for almost every mission since recruiting him in ME1.
Edit: just watched it on Youtube. Just teared up again. lol

I know no one wants to go anywhere near the ending, but Anderson's last conversation with femshep had me choking up. When he tells her "I'm proud of you child" or something to that effect was very touching from one long-time friend to another.
You think that'll pull on you, try the full, uncut original version of the speech with femshep. I'm not easily pulled into melancholy but this made it happen in spades. Link is here.

Pure bromance broshep version, and that last conversation, with him saying good bye. Ugh. Killed me. It's the moment that prompted me to tweet that this was the most amazing game I had ever played.
It's also the spot I'll probably stop during a replay.
Also, the pure renegade ending of Mordin is the most brutal, heart wrenching scene. Him crawling along the floor, trying to fight to stay alive and still cure the genophage... ugh.
