1.  Why is indoctrination such a stretch?  I actually think alot of the anger and rage is a manifestation of the meta-gaming experience.  Notice how pissed Shepard is most of the game?  Think about how you would react if you thought your were being indoctrinated. Saren was a good guy at one point until you talked him into realizing he was indoctrinated and he blew his own head off.  The IM wasn't indoctrinated in the second game (or .. probably wasn't) and you talked him into blowing his head off in the third game.  All the support is there.  In fact, the story isn't about humanity versus the Reapers its Shepard vs the Reapers and the story is all about major characters falling pray to indoctrination.  The conclusion of this story with Shepard WINNING or LOSING not against the reaper threat, but with the Reapers themselves.  Everything else, including the whole Reaper threat, is back story.  That or space magic...

2.  If you think BioWare and EA just want our money, why dead-end the universe?  The endings AS THEY STAND are just that .. the end of Mass Effect.  I don't think anyone wants to play more prequels, or certainly play through spinoffs if the end is a galactic dark age.

3.  The Mass Effect universe works because of the enormity of the Reaper threat.  Without the Reaper threat in Mass Effect there is ... what?  Basically nothing compelling.  Killing off the Reapers is phenomenally stupid.  Putting them in a place where they ~can~ be defeated?   ME3 is the end of the Shepard stories, but it has to end with you wanting more Mass Effect.

Anyway, three things I've kinda been thinking about I haven't seen.   The only thing I feel BioWare miscalculated was just how much people care about this series.  The material is THAT good.  I just wish BioWare would go off the playbook and just say something at this point ... the anger is clealy starting to bubble over and go to bad places.  Granted I had my own ridiculous poo flinging post over the weekend so I appreciate that people need to get it out.   It's nice out this weekend, go for a walk, come back, play a little MP as a Vanguard cause holy crap is that fun and then see how you feel.  If you are still pissed off rinse, repeat, mix in some cake or magaritas depending on preference for alternate outcomes.

*for all you WoW players, I'm a tank in a 10 man raid and last night as we were finishing up Deathwing, we rotate tanks so I asked "who's taking the first impale?".. at the same time two people both said "Casey Hudson", without hesitation.  One of the best spontaneous gaming moments I've had in a while!  Image IPB
