I for one, would not be satisfied. In fact I would be even more angered.
I would feel even more cheated, than I did taking the "current" ending at face value
(Imo indoc theory would make it quite simple to remedy all of the issues, however its not the Only way to save this game from a horrid ending. That's for another thread and has all been debated before. )
I want my choices to matter...I want to see the consequences for my decisions throughout the game/series reflected in the end game....the collective of all my choices should decide the the fate of every squadmate, species and homeworld...(just like they effected the outcome of ME2's suicide mission; which Casey said would be implemented on an even bigger scale in ME3's finale...and it wasn't)
There is so many variables that could essentially affect the outcome of the end, that it should be uncommon for two people to get the same exact ending(which squadmates, species, homeworlds survived or died....Shepard living or dying....all should be based on the countless choices you made)
My opinion is: if all they do to "fix" the issue, is add a Epilogue of text explaining everything....then it would be just as lazily written, and just as big of a cop out as the current ending taken at face value....
That's just how I feel....
But I want to hear "your" opinions...
adding Epilogue Text to current ending: would you really be "satisfied"?

No. Lack of epilogue is not the problem with the ending.

This. An epilogue is only half the battle. The other half is all the space magic they worked into the final cutscene.

Actually ,lack of epilogue is not the only problem with the ending. But lack of epilogue is still a problem.CrasVox wrote...

I would prefer a fade to black after the shepard - anderson chat over a text epilogue tacked on at the end.
I friggin' hate the star child plot device.

My main problem is just that its easily possible to create characters that dont fit the ending. A full Paragon defines the genre of the game in a way that doesnt allow for an ending where he dies and screws the entire galaxy in the process. Thats why I think that the current endings need to be changed. Honestly, if they wouldve wanted the ending that they gave us from the start they shouldve made the games darker. If you give us rainbow solutions (Quarian+Geth peace would be an example) then give us a rainbow ending, among others. The ending isnt supposed to change or strongly shape the story, its supposed to fulfill it. And thats only done by adding the right ending to the right story which, sadly, failed in this game, at least for some of the ways this game could be played.

No i wouldn't be happy, a written epilogue is great for dragon age as we've seen it before via Origins and Awakening, mass effect has never used one and i dont see the need to use one now.
Mass Effect DLC has always been awesome and i'd prefer to see a proper DLC than some half hearted epilogue designed to try and shut people up.

If starchild never showed up to melt the continuity of the series faster than a snowball in Hell, i'd have said maybe. Now however...
Anything short of at least an hour of playtime and cut-scenes will only leave me hating BioWare more than ever. Which is a shame, because they came oh so close to timeless perfection. Only to throw it out the window in the name of "art."

No. Why? Because text acutally matched DA:O's setting, it fitted well and worked well enough. But Mass Effect is one huge epic story line split into three games, it deserves more than that. Even if DA:O is the superior game (well for me,) I've always seen ME as a great cinematic experience... really is just deserves more. Especially for the end of such a long ride.

If all they're going to do is add text to "explain it", I'd rather get a press release from someone on the dev team with the same information.

If we can choose the color of the text, then yes. I would personally like for the said text to be read by the late Donnell Udina, however, as this would be both satisfactory and ideal.

Oh no, that would not be satisfying at all.
It's not even close enough at this point....
I'm sure Bioware knows that, though.

I mean....boss fight with Harbinger? Seeing the Rachni show up in our most dire time of need(as the queen promised)....these are sorely missed opportunities....
And choice and consequence is what the entire franchise was built on....they shouldn't have culminated the series by removing all of your past decisions, and bottlenecking the entire decision tree into: mass extinction

I will like an epilogue for the crew.
I'll REQUIRE as well:
-A more cool final battle (mind battle is fine) with Harbinger
-More space battle scenes.
-No star child
-See what happened with Hackett, Bailey and some others.
-A proper ending with love interest (may be hackett telling everyone that sheppard "died")
-The chance of alliance with the reapers (yes, for those guys who think reaping the galaxy is cool)
