Honestly I don't think its too much to ask for a DLC that consists of a boss fight and lengthy Cutscenes....and adding an hour of gameplay....for $15...I'd gladly pay for the closure and ending this Series deserves....

they please us....we pay them....

Idc if it takes a couple months....I just want it to be confirmed soon so I can stop worrying and wondering....if they just confirmed it, I'd be on my 3rd playthrough by now....maybe even playing all the way through ME1-ME3 again

Part of me still prays that this was a twist all along and they have the ending already finished or almost finished, and we'll have.it soon....just a prayer tho

I don't see what good an Epilogue would do at this point. It is possible that Bioware could tweak things to shore up plot holes, fix continuity errors and so forth but why should they? It wont change anything and most of us who are dissatisfied wont buy it anyway. Fundamentally, the ending, beyond just being bleak, presents a future in which we're left to dream about what -might- happen in the next cycle, just as if the Reapers had won. This renders the entire trilogy pointless.  Although I am intrigued by the possibility that the Bioware big-shots though this was an "uplifting" ending and just failed to execute it properly. It'd be very interesting to hear what their reasoning was and how they interpreted the conclusion. Doubt I'd agree, but I'd really like know.

No. its not the lack of an Epilogue Text to current ending that makes the ending bad, so just adding one wouldn't help any at all. The easiest possible fix to the ending as it is now, would be for Bioware to go with The Indoctrination Theory and release DLC for those that choice destroy option in which the break free of the indoctrination attempt and finish the game.

Hopefully with another set of ending that happen depending on choice you have made through the three games

Him waking up can be Canon
But the stipulation of knowing that is doing what you set out to do in the fiest game "Destroying the Reapers"

I relate it to Halo 3
In Halo 3 there's a scene after the credits with Master Chief and Cortana...this scene is Canon to the story. However, its an Easter egg and can only be seen by fulfilling the stipulation of beating the game on the hardest level.....

Similarly, Shep waking up, can be Canon....and can happen in the dlc no matter what the choice you made.....the stipulation of seeing the scene is staying true who Shepard is....and destroying the Reapers

Just a thought....for those people that say there can't be ending dlc because he only wakes up in the destroy ending....

It's just a theory tho....but other games have done it

Depends. If it addresses my questions (what happens to the galaxy, my choices, my companions, etc.), then I can overlook a few bad plotholes.

You know I wouldn't mind slides like in DA:O as long as it REFLECTED our choices in game. This is what I want to see. To have options to other choices and that it reflects in the game ending. Currently the endings don't offer that and if I have to get slides to get more closure but also variables to the outcome I'll be chill with it.

No. They need to provide the varied endings they promised.

This would not be acceptable to me. For it to be acceptable at the very least I'd need for there to be an option to refute the starchild and different endings that stem from that. I need some closure on the major characters and races as well but the starchild and his forcing you into the 3 current endings is the biggest gripe I have.

A few lines of text? I can probably do that myself. I'll just print some out and tape it onto my monitor as I relive that "wonderful, completely sensible, so artistic" ending.

Assuming they did implement the indoctrination/dream theory and have Shepard wake up...

I was thinking: what if Shep wakes up, regroups with his Squad...they go up to the Citadel(Forreal this time)....you are confronted by the illusive man...

TIM would be indoctrinated heavily and would be a sub-boss fight....after defeating him(not killing him) he would mention something about the Crucible not being the answer to the Reaper threat. What if he reveals that the crucible won't kill them and its just dysfunctional.(a good deed by telling you this information with his last breath)

This would be a crushing twist....

And then, as he's done before on his entire journey, when all hope is lost, Shepard realizes the insurmountable odds, and isn't going to lay down and die. He's going to fight. And Hope to win....its all they got....

This is when the Fleet that you have assembled is shown in cutscenes battling to the death head to head with Reapers(there will be heavy losses regardless)....

Harbinger storms the Citadel, and the boss fight to end all boss fights begins.

The stakes: The Galaxy and life as we know it.

Harbinger may have some dialog shedding some light on things that need some explanation(purpose of the Reapers, why hes so interested in Shepard.)

Once you get halfway through the boss fight, a cutscene starts, and shows your Fleet getting routed....and then out of nowhere, The Rachni Queen arrives in full force in our darkest hour(just as she said she would) and begins to turn the tide

Cutscene of Turian and human ground troops fighting side by side....

Cutscenes of Wrex and Grunt kicking major ass with a battalion of krogans fighting alongside the Salarian STG

Cutscenes of our ME2 squadmates doing battle

It's a moment infused with despair and hope at the same time

Cut back to Harbinger talking some smack about "knowing you were a worthy adversary...but your efforts are futile"....and then resume fighting to the death

Whether you win or lose, determines the ending Cutscenes(which I described in a "wishful thinking" post on page 2 of this thread)

The Cutscenes before finishing the Harbinger fight, will also vary based on your EMS....the Cutscenes I just described could be the best possible Cutscenes with a high EMS....if your EMS were low, and you didnt build alliances....characters would die in the scene....

Just some thoughts of how it could go with indoc theory applied....and whether you like it or not, the indoc theory seems the only way to "re-do" the end, without taking away the writers "artistic integrity" and removing the the last 10 minutes.....

Just add to it

Not to mention it has nice Symmetry with the end of ME1 as well(battle for the citadel)...only this time its over Earth....and for the fate of the Galaxy

These are just bullet points....Bioware can fill in everything in between superbly as they have before(except those last 10 minutes lol)

Disclaimer: this was all just a thought in my head

I think this is a very well thought out ending, I might prefer something a little different. But it is WAY better then current endings....sorry ending. You a long with many others have come up with endings that are FAR better then the current one. Without having an entire team of writers behind you. Why is it that Bioware messed up so bad.
