I tried pre-ordering the CE at a finnish Gamestop, but they told me I could only pre-order the SE. They said they didn't know if they would get any CE versions anyway, which I thought was confusing, because the Dragon Age website keeps telling me it's a good idea to pre-order the CE and Gamestop. What I want to know is whether I get all the pre-order bonuses if I just buy the Collectors edition instead of pre-ordering it.

EDIT: Indeed, this all took place in Finland.

The only thing i'd like to know is how quickly after your Origin story can you access the DLC. Are they places you can get to quite quickly in the story, or are they late in the game?

I really like the sound of Shale and Warden's Keep and would like to get to them sooner as opposed to later...i'm not sure if this has been answered before, but it would be nice to know.

How many serial codes I will receive with Digital Deluxe Edition?

And, can I freely load my DLC saves without Internet connection?

From what i have seen from Bioware cmments on the other boards, once you have downloaded the actual DLC, you no longer need the internet to play it, so i'd assume the same would apply to saves.

I am not at all opposed to paying for some DLC stuff, but I'd like for BioWare to start putting more on that site. For example, I'd like to know if I can buy things such as the Lion's Paw Boots or Feral Wolf Charm, since I pre-ordered my CE from EAStore.com and not GameSpot or Amazon.

So i'm assuming that the Armor will be for fighters only and if you wanted to be a caster or anything of that nature then its useless?

As it has been stated before every character can use every equipment (except non-mages cannot wield staffs) when he meets the requirement (eg. enough strength). So you could let your mage wear the armor if you invest enough points into strength.

I have high hopes for the Wardens Keep content. Based on what Bioware has said, it apparently is a Stronghold of sorts (at least a place you can drop items off).

If this is the case, I hope it's more than just an empty castle with a few chests you can throw stuff in. I always have enjoyed ACTIVE strongholds. For example, NWN2 with all the guards, all of the morrowind houses, etc. Hopefully the ghosts or whoever you have to put down/make happy stick around or something like that.

Basically, I hope Wardens Keep has some bodies taking up space once it's "mine." Simply being a huge empty place with chests would be very dissapointing.

i am still assuming that the unlockable items will be obsolete after only a short while of gameplay.  i have not seen anything stating that but would like to believe that you will be able to acquire better ,and class specific, items in-game pretty quickly.

Are there any numbers about the playtime of the Wardens Keep DLC?

I've seen the number 5 hours thrown around concerning Wardens Keep.

I am going to buy the Xbox 360 Collector's edition of the game and Warden's Keep will be in my possession through Marketplace.I hope the console version will keep up quite well with the PC one.

By the way greetings to this community...

I'm sorry but i've become totally against dlc these days. Instead of being a way to bring new content to games we love its become a way for gaming companies to rip us off. Add-ons for sale on release date, i'm sorry but that sounds like part of the game to me. I pay $60 bucks for a game, why should i have to pay more for content that is ready that day, $75 for CE and i still can't get all the content. Gaming companies are robbing us blind.

Simply put I have high hopes that the DLC won't fail like Fallout 3 did, damn Games for Windows LIVE making everything miserable. I remember reading many people saying for it failed to download, install or issues like that, I did not have any problems but it is kinda sad that many people miss out on a little extra adventure.. Also wondering how they will handle it on the PC? xD

All of them seem very very interesting, can't wait to meet that freaky ghoulish human, paladin?!

Blood Dragon Armour looks very nice and I hope it has some backstory to link the 2 somehow.. Grey Wardens become so powerful they became the SYSTEMS ALLIANCE! ELVES TURNED INTO ASARI! DWARVES BECOME THE KROGANS! hohoho.. not. xD

I think I'll get shale later on, he seems to powerful to start off with. I'll probably do his quest after I beat the main game.

I love all this 'bonus' stuff they release in conjunction with the game that should be considered part of the game. Silly marketing ploys.

Not purchasing the Digital Download it seems i am still getting the dlc content with the boxed version of the collectors edition, forgive me if this has been made clear already but i do not have the time to read through everyones post on the matter. I have pre-ordered from GAME.co.uk and they wrote this:

Dragon Age Collectors Edition features:
  • Plastic Collectors Box.
  • Bonus DVD with a 'Making of' documentary, Soundtrack, Trailers, Wallpaper, Concept Art Video and Strategy tips.
  • 3 pieces of exclusive in-game content - Bergens Honour, Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes and Final Reason.

  • Unlockable ME2 in-game item: Original purchasers of DAO will receive
the Blood Dragon Armour which will be usable in both DAO and ME2.
  • The Stone Prisoner unlockable bonus quest and unlockable character, Shale.
As the spiritual successor to BioWare's Baldur's Gate, one of the
most successful role-playing games in the industry, Dragon Age: Origins
represents BioWare's return to its roots, delivering a fusion of the
best elements of existing fantasy works with stunning visuals,
emotionally-driven narrative, heart-pounding combat, powerful magic
abilities and credible digital actors, resulting in a fantasy RPG epic
for the ages.

I thought the price £39.99 was slighty high given the EA store DDE can be got for £29.99 ( with voucher).

This does include the Wardens Keep etc but, not the 3 pieces of exclusive in-game content - Bergens Honour, Grimoire of the Frozen Wastes and Final Reason.

It remains to be seen what is the best deal !

ok I'm confused, I was under the impression that when you pre-ordered this game you get wardens quest and the aromor but game stop just told me no, and also that they are not allowing pre-orders of the CE so if anyone can help let me no whats going on I would appreciate it...

I'm not sure what your saying, The CE gets Stone Prisoner and that was always the case, it doesn't get Warden's Keep.

The DDE is £40 everywhere (before vouchers)

I'm not sure what remains to be seen, the best deal is either a boxed copy at £25 or the EA Store DDE + voucher which is £30, depending on the price of Warden's Keep and whether you want it.

The Warden's Keep is free with the Digital Collector's editions. If you do not have a DCE, you would need to purchase it.

This does not sit will with me. I see that as
a tactic to get more people to buy the D2D edition to avoid the hassles
and get the extra stuff. but bioware is going to deny people like me
(who have had the colletors editionon pre-order before the warden's keep was announced)  to suffer for it. With the 80$ im
paying for it i feel like im getting ripped off with them having
content avilble for download day one. i can understand wanting to keep
the game alive by creating extra content, but you dont do that on
launch day, it should be apart of the almost 100$ im already giving
you. Yeah, ill probably suck it up and buy the content evntually, but
this just makes me sad that dlc has taken on such an ugly face.

The PC collectors edition down here in NZ is about $120 :( (and comes with the usual steel case <_< )
