They are in a breathable atmosphere, nobody knows how or why but the fact there is gravity in that area should give you a hint Shep and Anderson are not in space.

Stop saying they are in space. If you want an answer than just belive the Protheans added that part to the design of the crucible because it would be pretty darn inconvenient to use the crucible while in a space suit and floating around.

I hope Bioware put in the shimmer of a barrier in later so people stop saying they are in space, laaaaaawwwwwdddd!

[To clarify: I am talking about the part before the activation of the Crucible not the Shep breathing scene after]

Are you sure? Could be Deep Space 9....

I thought it was pretty obvious they were in a glassed in enclosure. It's not like they were walking around on the hull.

No. In ME1 at the end when they were above the wards Shepard had to put on a helmet.

All forms and levels of space has no air. Air is only in atmosphers.

What's so hard about this? It's just like in the Wards.
I don't see what's so hard to grasp.

Why would they create a mass effect field around the Reaper's "destruction-port"?... That's actually the point that makes even less sense.

Dude you know the Reapers built the Citadel and everything on it right? Or did you think the Asari built it or something?

So Shepard is now Batman?, AWESOME!.

As we all know, Batman can breath in space if he wants to.

I didn't say space did have air... I know space is a vacuum.

They can't do that, it would ruin their "artistic integrity" to change part of the game after release.

That's actually my reasoning. Why would the Reapers allow organics to access their "destruction-port"?

I always just assumed there was a ME barrier there anyway, they aren't always visible after all.

But spaceis a vacuu...You can't breath in a vacuum. And with the citidel blow out ....Shepard has no way to breath if he is in space.
