Operation:  FORTRESS

With Reaper forces beaten back, relief efforts are under way in the newly-taken territory.

During this period, Reaper enemies will be severely depleted and there will be far fewer brutes than usual.
All players will get +25% experience over the weekend as Citadel Allied Command reviews the lessons of Operation Goliath and uses them to train new forces.

Looking ahead: Admiral Hackett has put out the call for advanced combatants among the N7 squads. These troops are being marshaled for an upcoming elite operation. Experience under fire leads to promotions….

Welcome to the next N7 multiplayer weekend!

Last weekend the community joined together to push back the reapers in Operation Goliath. With over 3 million brutes killed, their numbers have been decimated. Expect to encounter far fewer this weekend.

As a reward for that outstanding performance, join your friends online between 5 PM PST Friday, March 23 and 5 AM PST Monday, March 26, to reap the rewards of last weekend’s successful offensive with a 25% XP bonus.

• All enemies.
• All maps.
• All challenge levels.
• All platforms (PS3 included).
• All weekend.

To participate, you will need to play Mass Effect 3 multiplayer during the listed time period. That’s it.  The bonus applies to all XP earned. Gather your squad and take advantage! You’ll want to be leveled up for next weekend’s event…
+25% experience. Now’s the time to shoot for level 20 with your favorite character, or build up your N7 rating!

A more cynical person than the unrelenting cascade of joy that I am might wonder why exactly this is some kind of special event, when all it amounts to is a moderate boost in XP gain for a few days

Not that I'd ever wonder that myself. Cascade of joy, and all that.

I'm assuming it's for fun, really. It's a bit more interesting than if they said 'we're giving you a 25% XP bonus this weekend so you'll be ready for the Gold challenges next weekend.'

I wonder if the weakened reapers will make gold a lot easier. We have been beating gold with all adepts against cerberus.

Regardless, now is the perfect time to get all my characters to 18-20, since they are all in the lower teens anyway. Woo!

XP seems to be no problem for me since I mostly play on gold. Unfortunately the only weapons that I am missin or have yet to unlock (Paladin, Black Widow, and Javalin) are only attainable with spectre packs. Add a 5% to 10% credit bonus so I can buy more spectre packs and count me in.

meh...I would have liked to have seen more tangible rewards given out. XP really doesnt do me any good. Now if you said we were gonna receive a 25% boost in credits awarded or more in-game goodies then I would be more likely to take part.

However, IMO the MP seems kinda pointless after you beat the campaign. Not much replay value for me.

on a side note I dont think that brutes are the opponents that we have to worry about, its those damn banshees that are tough to deal with. I understand why the brutes numbers have been reduced, but I disagree with people who are saying it will make fighting the reapers easier.  I always thought that the brutes were some of the easier mini bosses.
