N7 Elitists - Give your opinion

My N7 level stays low (like 90 or so) because I don't feel like resetting my characters. I don't care if you have an N7 rating of 300,000, I usually end up out-shooting those people anyway.

Sadly, that is often true.
My N7 rank is hovering somewhere around 120. I don't promote, so if a low N7 ranking automatically makes you a poor player, most of the good players I know should suck. Guns can be understandable. Taking low level guns into gold is ridiculus. But I've had people tell me to switch to a different class or they'd boot me because I wasn't using the widow or black widow sniper. It is not my fault that I've never gotten that gun (very bad luck) so booting me because of it is plain stupid.

I have watched a lot of higher n7 rated people die for doing somthing stupid. Also meant on a standpoint of those who I see kicking.

I will consider N7 in the other direction though. That is, I'm more willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to loadout/class choices if they're a high N7. I figure that they know what they're up to.

N7-100+ for gold or gtfo.
Don't like it? Proceed to hold your breath while waiting for me to give a ****.
N7 rating may not mean much but it tells me you've played enough that the odds of you being a derp are lower. Is this ALWAYS the case? No, of course not. But unless I look at your loadout and see a rare or X rated common as well as amps and ammo the odds of a pre 100 rolling in my game is slim to ain't-gonna-****ing-happen.
Players like you are the ones that make the MP unbearable to some.
As a fellow forumite told me, some players get too competitive (tryhards).
The strange thing is that you make a good point to differentiate players who might be ready to give gold a try as someone who just going there first time or to waste their time.
Either way, your aggressive approach will make a few think twice before playing with you, but as you say, if you don't give a sh*t why should others give one to play with someone like you.
Nothing personal.

Also, this has been posted about a few times and it seems that the Xbox communtity is full of these e-peen enhancement promoting ****s. Not sure what platform your using but sounds like the same thing.
Your better off not wasting 20 minutes of your life with these losers. All a high N7 rank means is that they can't figure out how to play a character so they keep promoting it in hopes of respecing to something that works for them. Why else would you promote your characters over and over again?

Quote for truth. Yeah, I am not an elitest. At all. I don't care if your uber build guy level 9000 or just joined the game with a level1 with your predator pistol. I'll play with either. If we die, so be it, no big. If we win, great. I only have a 100 something score, but yeah I don't see the point of not promoting and starting over. If my xp earned is meaningless I just don't feel as motivated, but thats just me. I like to gain xp and level, its how I roll.

Exactly. Whats the point of playing with your level 20 constantly when your xp floats off into the ether. Leveling up is half the fun for myself and many others.Pyrceval78 wrote...

People are entitled to want an optimum team. They have no obligation to trust you. You're asking them to risk 15 minutes on the chance that you're good. They're asking you to risk 15 seconds to find a new lobby. That's not elitism, that's wanting the best chances of success.
STOP TAKING THIS AS A PERSONAL INSULT.
If I had a nickel for every time someone slapped out the keys for "elitist" behind teary eyes, I'd be rich.

They're not "asking" you to do anything, they're forcing you - because of a numerical rank. It's not true with all high level players, but alot of them who boot throw an insult in along with it. People say "elitist" because the average player doesn't give a care what your N7 rank is, no matter how good they are.

People who kick others just fail at the game, you really don't need a "perfect" setup or "perfect weapons" to clear gold..it's a PUG anyway doubt it would matter much.
They are just afraid i guess after reading horror stories about gold or whatever..people are so focused on optimum setups etc etc blabla they forget it's just a game you go in do your best and that's all! have some fun. IF you want to grind and go for records then just host a private game with your buddies and go those 20min rounds. Otherwise just go in and have a blast.

Not everyone makes the cut. Does a business with "Now Hiring" posted out front have to hire everyone who hands in a resumé?

I like it when people n7 with high ranks stand in front of my decoy at a choke spot then expect me to Rez them after the mobs see them first. Then of course, I had another high n7 say engineers are worthless in gold. *sigh* I guess having an N7 130ish means you don't know how class mechanic works.
Engineer is one of my favorites classes in MP, can handle everything, with the addition to the decoy/drone that can take the attention of the Brute/Banshee/Atlas for a few seconds that help mitigate and deliver more damage.
I'm specially fond of the Human Enginner, while i rather use the Salarian Infiltrator.
Hate that the tryhard players rather use only Asari Adepts and Infiltrators (or few cases Human Vanguards) on Gold, sure they put a lot of hurt on the table specially using high caliber weapons like the Widow.
A few of us aren't as lucky to unlock those weapons, but we can make a difference using our powers, so for that reason Elitist should be more open minded in the MP.

Except...it is a GAME. And people take it waaay too seriously. And a number next to your name isn't a resume.

Which is the attitude that makes you an elitist. You think you are in charge, or something special. You are not. Just play, and have fun. It's not really life and death you are dealing with here.

Funny to hear from someone crying over a vote kick feature. It requires a unanimous decision for a reason.
Oh well, everyone gets kicked at some point. Some will be adults and realize it's nothing personal. Others will run straight to the internet.

Who is crying over a vote kick feature? Certainly not I. It is a useful feature, I have not said a word about it. Of course, I haven't been kicked either but thats beside the point.

Why join gold then?
You're using a sub-optimal build/class combo, poor weapons and were not max level. If you hit ready before buffing I'd vote kick you too. Those are all warning signs that you might not be worth the risk of playing with. I'm in the same position as you. Work a lot, family obligations, etc, etc.
I'm not going to chance wasting my time and increasing my stress level.
Turian Sentinel is an incredible asset to a team. He can set up both Biotic Explosions and Tech Bursts, can set both off, and has an answer for shields, barriers, and armor. Saying it's "sub-optimal" is saying that a class combo that thrives on teamplay and excels on combo attacks is "sub-optimal".
