I am a Rank N91. Being higher has no real effect for me, I'll prolly be higher after this weekend due to the promotion stuff, but I do not require a real high rating. I am an experienced shooter player and I know what I am doing. I play gold fine wit lvl 15+ characters simple as that. even with lvl 1weapons.

I have no interest in easy farming of gold in the same old base against the same old enemy with the same old classes level 20 and the same old cheap tactics...I promote my classes every time and enjoy the trip to level them again, I use all kind of races and classes, not always the easy cake, I will be N7 400 this weekend and proud of it, I know I am a good asset for any team, I am experienced and a team player.

You can call it epeen, I am enjoying the game.

Well I guess the world is cruel , lucky me I have enough friends to fill up that 3 co-op space and we get to do all sorts of fun stuff, those who pick so call "best" weapon to take down any race are just sad, cause for us we have tried using one of the "worst" rated weapon and sometimes weird combination of skill or weapon in gold to test out how it fair, with best weapon it takes out the fun of being pressure by mobs. Hell we have even try 4 soldiers with submachine gun just for fun. The thing is most gold player play with the intent to finish the 11 round and get as much gold as possible , we play to learn each weapon's str and strat. If you want you can look up anything related to military like co-op tactic and play them out for fun, it's nice if you have good weapon, it's better if you understand co-op tactic to survive the fight most of the time.

Those like cross formation and V formation + cover can almost clear any mob from different direction except when you need to complete certain type of objective which require you to move.

If I am not mistaken someone was recruiting people to play MP, like a clan and they are willing to train newbs and advance player to play gold.

4 soldiers with falcons is hilarious but again it comes down to teamwork and team spirit. Its no good if 2 people want to gimmick roll Turian falcon soldiers, 1 person wants to make money to grind out spectre packs and the other wants to be top of the scoreboard. Everyone has got to be on the same page. So if you got 4 people up for a laugh then thats great. If you got 4 people up for a money run then thats great too. But its a problem when people refuse to be on the same page.

But N7 rating means squat. All it says is how many characters you've promoted.

I've had my share of run ins with Elitists.  I have yet to play a gold match because I don't have a mic that works properly and I honestly don't want to deal with the Elitists who will boot me if I use a class that doesn't fit their narrow expectations of whats "good" in the game.

I stick to Bronze or Silver usually. On Bronze I've had a few problems with people. One such occurance I've talked about on here. I joined a game as a Drell Vanguard in BRONZE and got insta kicked. If I can't play on bronze where am I supposed to play? Another time while playing the demo I tried using a Vanguard just to try out the class on Bronze and got a Message from one of the guys in the room telling me to get the f out.

More recently I was in a game as my level 17 Krogan Sentinel. It was the end of the match on Bronze in that reactor stage against Cerberus. Our leader had dropped, but everyone else stayed. When it came time to get to the LZ, I ran right for it and guarded the LZ from incoming Cerberus troops. The other two guys one a Quarian Infiltrator and the other a Drell Adept where outside the LZ killing Cerberus on their own. I am there at the LZ like I am supposed to be, making sure it doesn't get over run. Finnaly its down to 5 seconds or so and they both run back to the LZ. A stray bullet hits me while my sheild was down and my health was low and it happens to kill me right when the timer hits zero. We get a partial Extraction because I died. The Drell starts raving about how much of an idiot I am to die right there. That I ruined his precious full extraction bonus, when it was him who was outside the LZ for nearly the entire countdown, and not watching my back. Is it my fault that I can only guard one side of the very open LZ effectively?  He then thought he was clever to say that I was "voted off the island" as he marked me for kicking. The Quarian had left at this point and one of the two new guys who joined, marked me right away because the other guy did. So I just left. I don't need to deal with people like that.

People take the game way too seriously I think. Sure its more fun when your team does well. If you wanna go all elitist go play gold and use your perfect weapon set up. Its perfectly fine to take a passion in your gaming experience, but don't drag me down with disrespect because I don't meet your standards.

Honestly though there are people like that in every gaming community. I've seen them in Pokemon of all things. My friend is big into fighting games and sees them all the time. When I used to play Halo online I'd see them all the time. All the negative rep I have on XBL is from people like that from when I used to play Left 4 Dead and would get the most dissrespectful people ever yelling at me cause I wanted to check a room out and they all are going for a speed run or something.  I think its something to be expected in online gaming. It doesn't excuse the behavior at all, but if you are prepared for it you won't be surprised when it happens and they won't get to you as much. I think if you are going to expose yourself to anything competitive (even this games MP which while Cooperative, has a odd bit of competition to it, I blame the score screen at the end), you need a thick skin to brush off all the hate and all the BS people give you.

As for the OP, I think you handled yourself fine. I honestly wouldn't call you an elitist. It those other guys loss if they don't want to play with you.^_^

Agree, although we stop using the falcons due to shooting blanks problem. The only reason why we play for fun to finish gold instead of farming for gold is because we have got so many stuff that now all the spectre pack mostly give characters and power reset.

sorry bro, if you're not at least n7 2500, don't have every character unlocked, and don't have every n7 quality weapon at AT LEAST rank 3, then you not only are not worthy enough to share the same pre-game lobby with me, but you aren't even fit to sniff my farts.

welcome to online multiplayer.

This is exactly the reason why 4 turian falcons is so gobsmackingly amazing. All that action going down and you don't know if its doing anything. You just don't know...

The best part was when all my bros died and I got it down to just 2 Guardians (falcon only, no prox mines). I didn't know at the time you could bounce a grenade under the shield so I had this futile battle akin to flinging a tennis ball at a brick wall. My teammates were dying with laughter. It was great. We didn't win but the falcon squad will make a triumphant return.

If I am not mistaken using marksmen every time before you start spamming falcon almost gurrenty no bug , it's like they have lower the shooting rate but forgot to change the bullet rate or somthing.

N7 rating doesn't really matter that much... I played gold with 3 other 200+ N7 rating... We didn't even finish Wave 5... then my friend and I had a game on gold yesterday with a guys who had N7 rating of 90+ and 110+... The dude with an N7 rating of 110+ left... And we were forced to beat gold with 3 players... But the funny thing is we didn't even had a hard time doing it...

N7 Rating shows that you have experience. Im generally willing to give people the benefit of the doubt if they are queing gold at 150+. But really, silver should be locked until 120 and gold should be locked until 300. Why? Because most of the time people simply dont have enough experience or gear before then. I've rarely had trouble doing gold with a group of people who have more than 300 n7 rating.

Half the time though its just russian roulette trying to find a decent gold group. Que/leave/que/leave/que/leave. No offensen but half the time im simply not willing to do a gold with a bunch of soldiers/krogan sentinels because i know it will be fail.

You will miss many good players then, because many good players like OP don't promote their characters.

if a low N7 joins my gold game, im kicking him.

i know N7 doesnt tell you how good a player is, but generally i see low N7 players doing a lot more stupid things than high N7 players.

i know there are excpetions, but if i don't know you, N7 level and gear is all i have to go by really.

Well that's your call to make, but I don't agree with it.

You don't have to argee with it. We're all strangers. But don't put a negative spin on it like you wouldn't do the same. The internet is full of BS, you can never tell who is telling the truth.

I don't believe for a second you people saying you don't kick anyone on gold.

I won't do it, I don't do it. I always give people a chance in the game, I give suggestion before the game starts, and even if they don't pay heed, I go ahead. It is a game and I treat it like one. Just now, we played with a level 17 vanguard at gold despite the fact that vonguards get glitched very often when they don't host. He glitched and we still won, so that's that. Go figure how truthful I am about the statements I make regarding the game.

Fact:

People who say N7 is epeen only don't have a high N7 rating and are butthurt they're prejudiced against.

Fact:

People who say N7 represents experience, but not necessarily skill, laugh when they kick a low N7 rated player from their teams.

Fact:

If you don't promote this weekend you get no pretty boxes.

My N7 rank is 225 ATM. I don't think N7 rank matters.

I've run into too many people that don't understand how a coop game works.

1) Kicked for class/weapon combos that person kicking can't make work
2) active advice on how to respec my character before we begin that sounds less like advice and more like orders
3) farmers who quit or get upset at the idea of playing instead of farming

This multiplayer community is getting off on the wrong foot.

I look for exactly two things when playing with someone new:

1) Did you pull your weight
2) Did you actually play cooperatively

That's all that's really neccesary. N# be damned.

I'm an N300+, and I've seen people way better than me in the 150s. I've also seen people with higher N ratings sucking up a storm.

Even then, were they sucking because of lag? Poor equipment unlocks? Who knows!

Point is, people are making the Multiplayer portion not work, which I predicted a while back. This community is very unforgiving, and that goes triple for someone who they don't know in a multiplayer lobby.

As an aside, I played a gold match with a dude yesterday who was complaining that the next nearest guy to him was 60,000 points behind.

Had nothing to do with his Widow X, I'm sure.

He was a great team player, and we worked well together (I thought), but he failed to understand why he was outclassing everyone.
