What if they change the ending, and it appeals to some people and not others? Will we be forever in a loop of the ending of the game being changed to until everyone is happy? Now that Bioware has given in the ignorant among us will feel they can have their way all the time. The game sold 3.5 million copies and i dont see 3.5 million people complaining. i also dont see 3.5 million people donating to the cause. .1% of the people who bought the game were passionate enough about it to actually donate. the rest are just on the bandwagon in hopes that next time they dont like a way a developer does things they can change things 'because Bioware did it'
Price of a game too high? why not complain to companies to lower it to $30. hell why stop there, why not whine and complain and lobby to make all games free. Didnt like how badly Resident Evil: Operation Racoon City sucked? maybe with enough complaining and lobbying to Slant Six and Capcom will get them to redo the entire game just to tickle our fancy.
Why stop at games? We are so entitled to have our way all the time like spoiled little brats why not take some attention to the movie scene and change the endings to every movie that didn't live up to expectations as well.
I have created a Facebook Page called Preserve Mass Effect. Join it or like it if you share my feelings. Just over 4000 people showed their support for changing the ending. and if they get their way it will set a dangerous precedent for the future of games. we need to show them that alot more of us appreciate and respect Bioware/EA's decicion on how they chose to end THEIR story.

Jesus F Christ. You don't GET it. Ultimately it's their IP, not yours. You worked for Bioware if you ever gave them feedback and at best they paid you by giving certain things that were fan service. The fact that they acknowledged the big influence of their fan base on their work does not give you the right to call Mass Effect "yours". TOPS, it gives you the right to say to BioWare "FRAKKIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR FAN SERVICE".
Get it? And what's that sh*t with the door pointing? I see no doors here. Clearly you don't understand how the internet works ar ar ar.

Okay this **** has to stop. Video games will never be the Mona Lisa. I don't see how someone could compare painting to Video games. Cinema and video games okay. Maayybe Literature. There isn't a "twist-ending" at the end of the Mona Lisa. Video games are not only art. They are a product, and as such are subjected to consumer review. If they were on the same level as the Mona Lisa or the Statue of David, then only one copy would ever be sold, and everyone else could observe it for free.
I don't like the ending getting changed either. Do you see me being a whiney **** about it? Shut up! Just don't download the DLC. Other people want it and will pay for it, so what right do you have to protect the "artists" at EA. It's silly how you seem to think business doesn't play into this in the least.

Or maybe someone has a honest opinion opposed to yours? Have to agree that I do not want the ending changed at all. I'm in agreement with the OP on the whole "When does this stop?" argument but other than that it's not that dire.

Also, you are what is wrong with video games. Why games are getting worse and worse. Companies keep producing lesser quality games, and idiots like you buy them and say that it is okay that the game is a piece of **** even after we were promised an epic game and a finale to the series that would "answer the questions." You are telling developers like this, and the companies that own them (EA, Activision, etc.), that it's okay to dumb down their games and still make massive profit on them without being accountable to their fans and to gaming as a whole. Pretty soon, with attitudes like yours, the gaming industry is going to become dull and lifeless. People will buy games, but they will not be enjoyed, they will not get better, they will continue to become more dull and lifeless. True "gamers" will not even want to play them anymore, and bio*drone (apparently bio*drone is blocked on this site lol) simpletons such as yourself will continue to support their ****ty games and continue to make everything worse. Keep up the good work on destroying the gaming industry pal...

Yeah, it was hilarious (sarcasm), but your analogy was there and if someone agreed with you, I'm damn sure that you would be on about artistic integrity right now. The point is, is that you and all these other people whining about the changed endings announcement are worse then the people who wanted to get it changed. Not only are you trying to block the studio, you're trying to block other people's enjoyment that will effect yours none-what-so-ever.
And yeah, video games are art, somewhere between movies and board games. They aren't on the same level as the goddamn Mona Lisa so stop trumpeting that as an acceptable simile.

I'm not calling the IP 'ours', I never did.
Casey Hudson is calling it a collaborative effort between the devs and fans for the content. Re-read both the Interviewer's question and Casey's answering statement... and if you can, try to dispute it.
He considers that the fans are co-creators. Fact. What part of that don't you understand?.

Its also my time, five years of my invested time and story choices. Seeing as though time is more precious than money and I not having that much free time, I certainly I do not look kindly on it being wasted, especially for when its something I have been promised since before the game launched and it does not make it into the final product.
nope its not its their story not yours if was your story then you wouldnt have the 3 endings, that they made for their story right.. right..

It's not even three endings. You get three choices of colors, and one ending. The ending is the same NO MATTER WHICH COLOR YOU CHOOSE.
Also you're ignoring what BW wrote in blogs and dev threads on how our choices in the ME series will effect the outcome of the ending, and there wont be any A B C endings. Our choices didn't even factor in the end, and we got an ABC ending contradicting what was said and promised.
It's poor story telling when you plop in a dues ex machina trope ending that makes no sense to the story up to that point.

I get what you're saying, it is illusion of choice.
But if it is done well enough, with as many options as Mass Effect one and two has previously shown, then its about as close as you are going to get in a videogame.
