Hi I bought the game when it first came out. I got the little two
codes. Redeemed them at a friends house because I don't have online, as
much as Id love to I just can't connect at my house. Completed
download. But I had to go to work before I could really play. So after
making sure they were downloaded (Stone Prisoner is 137mbs I think and
Blood Dragon around 34 if not mistaken) I unhooked my hard drive from
his xbox and went on my way to work.
I got home and hooked my hard
drive into my xbox..happy and prepared to enjoy the DLC I had spent an
hour downloading. I mean.. I did everything right. I only bought the
game on the release date for this. Anyway the download came up corrupt.
The xbox did and update when I tried to start the game. (You need to
update your console to play this game)
Ive done everything I need..
id assume. I can't "install" because it doesn't even show up on the
download list. Although if I go into memory it says both the downloads
are there...

Please help.
EDIT: Stone Prisoner is 197mbs (roughly) and Blood dragon armor is around 3.
I checked in my memory section again. Hope this helps.

Are you sure you got both of the console updates while your were downloading the extra content? Took something like 20 min on DSL for the prepatches and then the time to dl both sets you mentioned but everything has been fine for me.

Good luck with accessing that content because it's tied to your friend's console's license and you'll need to perform a license transfer but that will transfer all his licenses to your console as well so then he won't be able to play his DLCs offline. Then that DLC is tied to your GamerTag as well so he won't be able to access it either unless he uses your GT. The ONLY way for you to be able to play that DLC that is on your Hard Drive is if you get an internet connection and connect to XBL......if you do that then your GT only will be taken into account and you'll be able to play without the console's license hindering you.

So basically you're screwed and you threw your codes away.

I'd feel sorry for you if you weren't the trillionth person I see that is clueless about console licenses and what effect they have on DLC.

I agree darth. I am completely helpless with tech stuff lol. Say I were to get my hands on a new code and I took my entire xbox to his house and used the new code...would that work?

On another hand. While I realize the licensing is to prevent redistribution, why do they not do combination licensing from hard drives? To make the hard drives DLC to only work with the xbox its registered to? This seems kind of like a money making thing compared to the alternatives. On the other hand it is the most obvious choice to prevent theft so I do understand. I just think if I used the code on my xbox hard drive..in theory..it should have been immediately applied to the account. oh well guess Ill just go without shale and that sweet looking dragon armor. At least thanks for taking the time to clear things up for me. I really should have read more into this before I tried something.

Thx for your time and sorry about the forum spam...by the sounds of it Im at least the 13th idiot to post about this.

Try calling 1-800-4MY-XBOX(north america) and ask them if there is a way to do a license transfer for individual DLCs and explain your situation. I don't think it's possible but it doesn't hurt to ask.
