The only verification we've gotten that they're doing is a passive tweet.  All it said that we can solidly take is that something is coming regarding the ending.  What it ends up being can either turn into a disaster or it can turn into the greatest thing since sliced bread.  We all have a much greater role in that already.  The fact that they've said they're doing this for us alone says that.  If we tell them what we want they'll produce it.

If your grandmother tells you she is gonna bake you a pie for your birthday but doesn't tell you what kind of pie its gonna be, wouldn't that peak your interest?

Especially since you already told her you wanted cake?

This is true. I just tend to be a natural pessimist. I'm truly hoping this turns out well. Until then I think I will adopt a position of nuetrality. And attempt to to have no opinion either way.

It seems that I am the proportionate optimist to balance your pessimism. Ultimately they're going to do what the majority wants.  Or whatever stands to be the means to gaining the greatest profit.

If anything we should still tell them precisely what we want.  I'm not endorsing that this "battle" is over.  But we are on the right track.

Interesting analogy.  I'm not sure how to respond to it as I don't quite... understand the point you're making.  I shall fall back on a fail-safe response.

No data available.

More like, your grandmother just served you a delicious pie with a turd baked in. Now she's talking about sending you another one just like it but with a letter attached to it explaining the reasoning and maybe something extra to go with it. Hmmm.

I just like pie and cake. And grandmothers.

I meant it to mean that any tidbit we get about this ending is going to cause a lot of discussion, and when it seems like the feedback isn't what we want, its worth talking about.

Hmmm.. Well have to see i guess, se what happens. What the mass effect team has brewing.
I really hope they add endings too, and add things after... Since it´s the last chapter of the trilogy, and the other games had shorter open endings. I would love a happy ending as one of the options.
But we´ll se.

"Closure" and "Clarification" for those horrible, **** endings we were served?
I wouldn't even download that kind of DLC if they offer it for free, not even worth the space required on the hard drive...

Watch it be 20 minutes of the Stargazer standing there, explaining what happened to his grandkid. 20 minutes of Buzz Aldrin rather painfully reading from a script. Very slowly.

I love the guy as much as anyone, but good god, that dialog...

LOL. It was bad. BAD. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

Taking bets on who thinks indoctrination theory will end up being canon.

With the amount of clues in the last 10 minutes just SCREAMING "indoctrination!!", that just might be true.

I think I'm going to change my stance from "give me the endings that we were promised" to "give us a damn toolset".

I agree.  Pie, cake, and grannies are cool.

I also agree with the second part.  You have a point.  Discussion is inevitable.  I'd just like to see it turn into something more productive if anything.

All the people here better start accepting that they will not give you a "NEW" ending no matter how much you shout,I know it's sad but it all points out to be closure and perhaps explaining the plotholes or giving it more sense...but that's all you're gonna get,..you will still have the 3 choices, the starchild and granpa....

This guy gets it.

But honestly, if this was substantiated, this sounds like exactly what we want. Indoctrination is clarification, you know. Or could be.

Yeah.  Exactly.  It's not like the tweet came back saying "sorry guys.  We just can't help you.  Deal with it."

They've given us something to hope for.  Why dismiss it as though they've screwed it up before they've even started it?  They're doing this for us.

It seems clear from this what they intend to do :
"Mass Effect ‏ @masseffect:
@adystarkey75 Not changed, but we are creating new content to clarify and add closure. That's all."

I always suspected BioWare went into the deep Norwegian forests to catch Trolls, to then put them behind a keyboard and making them manage the Twitter account.

That's exactly what I want, clarification. More specifically I want them to clarify why Joker deserted and why the Reapers moved the Citadel to sol instead of just using it to shut down the relay network, which would have been much better protection against the fleets and the Crucible.

That's not going to cut it. The story has made it to general news media - that's pretty big for a videogame ending. And the story spreading is that they'll change it - regardless if that was the intent of Bioware or not - this is what people come to expect. This is how the message was perceived - even if Bioware PR went to great lengths to prevent this by talking about explanation and artistic integrity.

I remain hopeful for an actual change.
