HOW exactly can people be this optimistic? Seriously, remember the 16 ending? that choices mattered? Right now it is bioware's job to make us believe they listened and restore our faith but this shows us the goddamn OPPOSITE

If the mass relays are still destroyed and we still get a "galactic dark age", this isn't going to help much.

That's what I wanted. It was never about getting a "happy" ending, its about getting an ending that isn't filled with plotholes and explains the whole catalyst/reaper thing in more detail.

Speak for yourself.
I want happy ending

There is nothing wrong with a "shephard dies" ending.  It was just executed in the worst manner ever.  All I'm asking for is a bit more detailed explaination as to the nature of the catalyst and why it couldn't just open the citadel relay from before ME1 even began.  I can even live with some minor plotholes.  I get it Joker was ordered to retreat so thats why he's in a mass relay.  But that doesn't explain how your crew you took with you got onboard the ship.  But the big one that NEEDS to be explained is the ctalyst not opening the citadel relay trap and needing soverign to do it.

This.
I don't want clarification on this nihilistic, torturous ending.
I don't want pithy explanations for why Shepard is a quitter and why Joker is a coward.
I want new endings, not this dark age garbage they forced down our throats.

Seconding (thirding?) this. Absolutely how I feel. We don't want clarification, we're not little babies who can't wrap their heads around Mac Walter's masterpiece. Bioware should know what we want, because we've said it countless times.

This vague twitter/blog talk is even more bewildering after I wandered down to the Dragon Age forums, and finding that the development team on that is planning to have a lot of fan feedback involved in the creation of DA3. So why can't the mass effect do the same thing, on a DLC?

Is everybody on the rag all the time on this board?. This should be seen as a positive thing. Nowhere in that quote did it imply that they weren't listening, or that specific complaints weren't going to be addressed. Some people complain about Bioware using PR speak to pacify them, but Bioware cant say anything without it being unfairly dissected. nobody knows what they have planned, and being negative just for the sake of it (which this place excels at) does no one any good.

Try having an aruement with a person where you speak down to them and only give them passive non-answers and see where it goes.

Just because its a company does not mean I should roll over and beg just because they dangle a bone in my face.

If they want fans to stop being angry, there has to be some actual discussion and dialogue, not just half tidbits posted here and there that don't addresss what is actually being said, or passive letters where the comments section gets shut off.

It is a good sign...

But at this point I'm so burned out that even an easter egg showing pictures of Tali, Liara, Jack, Miranda etc wearing bikinis would be an improvement...

At least it can't be worse than what we have....

right? right?

Seeing as that's exactly what I wanted - I'm quite happy with that. So long as the clarification goes indepth as to what happens to the galaxy/your squad.

They can't change the ending, you know this, right?

They can build on, expand on, add to, but cannot change the ending. If they changed the ending it would make investors very nervous. Why? Because it would be an admission that the game's ending was wrong. Best they can do is clarify what happened in the ending. Which best case scenario IMO would be that Shepard was fighting indoctrination and then we get a real ending.

They are meeting us halfway.

If they are more worried about investors then what the game itself is like then they lose the right to call it art.

Seriously, calm down. They are not going to say on Twitter everything they plan on doing.

Stay calm and hold the line. Don't panic and overreact. Keep voting; keep voicing your opinion. We will get nowhere if everything turns into hate mongering and angry venom-spitting fans (which most of the people here ARE NOT). Just don't start.

I thought we wanted more consequences for our choices? And more actual definitively different endings depending on those choices?

...That's what I want, anyway.

I'm fairly certain thats not what we've been requesting.  Am I just mistaken and dissatisfied, or are they really just not listening correctly?

When I'm asking if they CHANGE or ADD something on that Tweet... no answer. As always.

If it isn't a fix like we have asked and only an added CG cutscene to justify them blowing up galactic civilization then I'm done. I won't buy a single product from them again. At least I still have Bethesda...the company who likes their fans and takes what they say to heart.

It's the mother of all "lol2deep4u" arguments.

"You obviously didn't understand what happened, so we'll just have to explain it to you like you're all stupid."

No, no...I understood what happened.  I didn't like it, and it's not what I paid for.

Our Choices Should Matter - Hold the Line

To begin with expecting we'd get EVERYTHING we wanted is naive, if we do that's amazing, but it's more realistic to hope we get some of it, and even that is optimistic.

Second, they've already seen what happened the last thing they were too specific and didn't fully deliver on it, after the backlash they got I'd also be as vague as I could possibly get away with until I knew exactly what I was doing to fix it. If I manage to positively surprise some people in the end, well that works even better, doesn't it?

They're starting to listen, they're starting to try to fix it, and yes they may still have PR speak on, but that doesn't mean they're not being serious. No I'm not saying trust everything they say or read to much into it, but we don't need to be aggressive or passive aggressive about it either, it doesn't help any.

I'm in a charitable mood today, so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this is positive news.

Was BW being intentionally vague on what they were going to change about the ending? Of course, but they were never going to give the kind of detail we would need to judge their ending revisions through a twitter post on Friday afternoon. It's just a teaser to tell us that something is coming, and we'll know what it is in a few weeks, if nothing else after all this outrage you know BW will try to sell us their ending adjustments. I want to feel better about the ending, so I'm more than willing to listen to their new ending sales pitch and hope they're persuasive.
