He's not in a relay, though. He's making an FTL jump.
Relays are instantaneous.
No they're not. See Omega-4 relay jump. The pulse is following him and not dissipating. He's in a relay.Mass Relays are mass transit devices scattered throughout the galaxy, usually located within star systems. They form an enormous network allowing interstellar travel. Hailed as one of the greatest achievements of the extinct Protheans, a mass relay can transport starships instantaneously to another relay within the network, allowing for journeys that would otherwise take years or even decades with only FTL drives.
Right from the wiki page. http://masseffect.wi...wiki/Mass_relay
EDIT: and as far as I can see, no mention of the Omega 4 trip taking any longer. From what I remember of ME2 the trip was instantaneous, just the trip to the relay took a while.
It's about the looks, you see the Normandy flying through the relay, it looks very much like the ending sequence in ME3.

Because this would be the first time they've ignored their own codex right?
Watch any omega-4 jump video. The trip is not instant, and again, if the Normandy wasn't in a relay transit then why is the pulse following them?
In normal FTL it should be expanding across the whole background and thinning out. Instead it gets stronger as it nears the Normandy.

They can't change the ending, you know this, right?
They can build on, expand on, add to, but cannot change the ending. If they changed the ending it would make investors very nervous. Why? Because it would be an admission that the game's ending was wrong. Best they can do is clarify what happened in the ending. Which best case scenario IMO would be that Shepard was fighting indoctrination and then we get a real ending.
They are meeting us halfway.
They can change they ending. They are not meeting us at all half-way. They are likely better off doing nothing.

No. What I wanted is an ending that reflects on my choices.

I don't want clarification on this nihilistic, torturous ending.
I don't want pithy explanations for why Shepard is a quitter and why Joker is a coward.
I want new endings, not this dark age garbage they forced down our throats.

So the game we paid for, invested in and were told we were part of creating isn't our game.
What is this? Spacebrat logic?

Well if they actually manage to explain every single plot hole, it will be the greatest accomplishment in video game history. So I'm quite curious about what they will come up with.
But if they tell me that my entire squad ditched me because they were ordered to retreat and detail the fun times they will have stranded on that planet, I'm sure they won't mind me staying clear of their future products.
Also I love how they seem to think that the entire war asset thing turning out to be pointless is not an issue. It's just a major game mechanic who cares if it's thrown aside at the end. Right?

I agree. If we only get the "clarification" of the endings and are still stuck with the Red Blue and Green, the series ends with ME2, and ME3 is my first trade in for GRAW3 next month and screw any DLC for ME3 and purchase of DA3 unless I see a 10/10 from forum reviews, not magazines.

Hm, I bet this has been mentioned before, but since the Normandys engines were destroyed by that shockwave, doesn't that mean that all the ships in the Sol system where kinda singed as well? That shockwave clearly hit the entire system (and beyond) as can be observed by the galaxy map shot of the explosions. So... we've crippled the entire fleet? Sadface!

It seems to me the more obvious first released DLC would relate to Aria T'Loak and retaking Omega for her. Or even expanding on the Rachnai and make them more relevant to the ME world.
So long as the more generic (and obvious) cerberus and N7 mission packs don't turn up until later (or even after the first content related DLC) I think we can be happy, but understandably cautious about this development.
Bioware asked for constructive feedback which a lot of us have given to them. This has obviously moved around their original release schedule and clearly knocked Bioware for six. They know they've upset the apple cart somewhat but cannot say so, or really change the game ending because this would, as they pointed out, ruin their own artistic integrity. The level of organization has been unprecedented from the community at large and, while not a total victory it is an important step in the right direction both from them and us.
Basically folks we need to be cooling down with our intensity, but remaining vigilant until we see what they release.
For those of you out there who are wary of paying for any new DLC, The Vanguard Project is here to give a fan review, aiming for a day-of-release review for you all.
