I do not need clarity. I'm pretty sure its clear what occurs.

You control the Reapers.
You synthesize everyone into a homogeneous life forms without their consent
You destroy the Reapers and commit genocide against the Geth plus you murder your own friend

Regardless of the above you either vaporize billions/trillions in an instant as the Mass Relays blow or you doom billions/trillions to slow death by lack of supply due to the trade network being destroyed.

The problem is that Priority:Earth does not reflect the choices Shepard made. And choosing any of the three colors is Shepard giving up his (and the rest of the galaxies's) free will.

"Clarifying" things won't change the above.

To clarify: I want an ending that is the result of all the major decisions Shepard made.

This.
I don't want clarification on this nihilistic, torturous ending.
I don't want pithy explanations for why Shepard is a quitter and why Joker is a coward.
I want new endings, not this dark age garbage they forced down our throats.

Angry One, you're so quotable.

Will not be satisfied by thematic bastardization, regardless of camera angle.

Need real ending. Akin to genophaging past 5 years of hope and faith for nihilistic message.

Highly disappointed.

what is bothering me is not the response of MEtwitter, but the whole "cave in to the whiners" could someone write on their wall that we would like not to be called whiners etc, especially on ME official twitter? I mean, we don't call those who love the ending mentally retarded for not seeing the plot holes etc?

Calm down.

They are reassuring another fan that they won't completely change the ending he apparently enjoyed.

If you think BioWare is going to appease RetakeME3 and alienate everybody who doesn't agree with its aims, you need a reality check.

The changes will, inevitably, be a compromise between the different camps.

Stay cool and civil, and work to shape the compromise... more constructive than flying off the handle because you're not getting a total victory (which was never, ever in the cards.)

I hope you're right. Most of us are fine with the Starchild staying, but want the ability to complety bypass it if we choose to. I don't want that kid in my game, or Stargazer. But I'm not going to say keep them out of the games of people who actually enjoyed them. I don't see how those can be kept for people who enjoyed them, and new endings crafted for people that hate them.

I'm fairly certain thats not what we've been requesting.  Am I just mistaken and dissatisfied, or are they really just not listening correctly?

Sounds good to me.  I only wanted ending DLC this whole time anyways, so I'm happy.  Now just the wait. Image IPB

That's what we wanted. It was never about getting a "happy" ending, its about getting an ending that isn't filled with plotholes and explains the whole catalyst/reaper thing in more detail.

Wrong, I want an ending that reflects MY choice. After 100 hours I think I deserve that and so does a lot of other players. This is what Bioware promised with "16 different endings". I'm so sick of all this fatalist crap that Shepard has to die, complete bs.

All they had to do was end ME in a similar fashion as Origins and all of this would have been avoided. You can't clarify a bad ending, it's still a BAD ending. Apparently Bioware has not been listening at all.

I don't know, possibly the shockwave isn't as strong as the pulse (assuming the relay explosion doesn't in fact torch the system). Which just makes Joker look like even more of an idiot for putting himself in the path of the pulse.

Well, that does leave a lot of room for speculations (hur hur) for the "fix" DLC. Maygbe there will be a shot in between epic mass relay explosions with a voice over saying "Look! The mass relays are blowing up but the solar system is super duper fine... somehow! Awesome sauce!" and a radio transmission during the Joker 'whats that up my rear window" scene going "Normandy! Good thing you are in relay transit because of that Normandy eating super reaper! Perfect call Joker! ".

Why not just admit they've created plot holes and fix them instead of "trying to explain things"?

Meh, can't they just do the indoctrination thing and be done with the entire mess?

But I'm getting ahead here. Let's just give them the benefit of the doubt one last time. Maybe, just maybe, they'll come through for us.

Screw what the fans want. This isn't our game.

I'm a fan of what bioware's doing.

So I guess me and my 30 other friends from a german board who don't post here won't buy your games anymore then, won't we?

Yeah if they are really gonna be like that, then BioWare as a company will die. If you're not listening to your customer base you dig your own grave.

I just want it to make sense, explain what actually happens and understand how my teamates who are all on Earth suddenly get on the Normandy.

If thats what they do then fine by me. I still may not like the ending, but at least it should generally make sense.

Twitter is a horrible source for detailed answers; we still have to keep holding the line and let our voices be heard - clarification is only appreciated if additional endings are added with the default ones.

Covering the endings in more detail isn't going to make them any better for those who disliked them in the first place.

I agree. If we only get the "clarification" of the endings and are still stuck with the Red Blue and Green, the series ends with ME2, and ME3 is my first trade in for GRAW3 next month and screw any DLC for ME3 and purchase of DA3 unless I see a 10/10 from forum reviews, not magazines.

Yup. Me too. If they can't fix it I'm out. Just... what's the point. I don't need clarification on something that is terrible to begin with. For me Mass Effect will end with 2 if they can't put their big kid pants on, swollow their pride and fix that ending..

Maybe I'll go outside... join a hiking club.... learn how to knit...

I'm in complete agreement... ideal outcome for me would be a new story branch that lets me end the game on a different note than the three options, but lets people who enjoyed them (lovely, silly people) with their prefered ending intact.

That would be the 'Choice' in the desirable trinity: Clarity - Closure - Choice.

So, how do we go about drumming into Bioware that we want our choices to reflect on the endings? I thought we had made it pretty clear, but apparently not.

How do we do it?

We keep the heat on. That's how. Don't buy any DLC until the ending is fixed.

Hold the line.

Here, let me tell you why your teammates abandoned you and why a god child makes sense with this made up stuff that is poorly written. Never mind the disgusting moral implications bioware writers have if they really think the ending 3 options will solve any problems ever. No way would we actually want to fix the problem, we will just put this fancy wrapping paper on this dog poo.

Exactly. People don't want closure and clarification for something that never made any sense in the first place.

The thing that bothers me the most is that I'm going to have upper middle class people in a first world country explaining to me why genocide, the mass violation of rape of every person in the galaxy, and loss of humanity are proper solutions to long term war. Each of these options have been proven wrong in human history many times.

These are the solutions that people come up with when they have no context to what war really is. That or they simply never read about or even thought about history. I'm not even a history major, I just like to read a lot!

As someone who was completely pissed about the ending, I think we're taking this the worst possible way. We asked for a change, we've now recieved official confirmation that SOMETHING is changing. That's pretty damn good.

I'm neither excited or disappointed until the changes come to light. Wait till we have the product in hand before deciding if you hate it people.
