If I were to make a demo of this game, it would be a crawl through a section of Deep Roads with forced deathblows 100%.
And when you beat the section, BAM, cutscene of sex with Lelianna.
Million more copies sold.

I posted something on Risen's forums the other day thanking them for the demo.
My laptop can't play Risen. I found out from the demo. Since I enjoy Pirahna Bytes, I would have bought Risen without knowing any better and would have been out 50 bucks.
I posted a thank you note on their forums for the demo. They may have lose a sale today, but they ensured multiple sales down the road.
It's something to think about.

No demo, character creator is as close as you can get.
