Just what the hell. Bioware, we want a new ending, not some closure to the current ending.

What bioware seems to think is that they can continue their name without the support of fans. Little do they know, the disconnect that they're creating between themselves and their fan base is going to cause them to go from a AAA+ title developer to a B+ (eh MAYBE I'll buy it when it's cheaper) kind of company.
Well to be fair to them I don't think that's how they think. If they thought that way they wouldn't be working on fixing the ending one way or another. We know that they're at least working on something and it's full content remains to be seen.
I think we shouldn't pass judgement before we get a clearer idea of what they're doing.

Doesn't mean all of my problems with the ending would be erased, as I still very much want different endings that make doing different playthroughs actually mean something. However, a good portion of my problems with the endings are STORY related - and I'd be somewhat calmed by revisions to the story that had that ending make sense within the context of the world they've already built. (And no space magic! Seriously, that made no sense.)
"Somewhat calmed", however, does not mean completely passified. I'll still be proudly holding the line until other improvements are made - such as different endings or even epilogue slides.

I don't understand it, why are they so set on this "star child" nonsense? on the "mass relays must blow up"? "Normandy must be stranded"? What are they thinking?
Well, they just confirmed it then. They aren't listening, and at no point were they.

Along with the Importing face issue and Liara romance bug... I can't really bring myself to play this game again. As with other fans... I played ME1 and ME2 probably 20 times apiece... I still have the games. I did a complete run through of ME2 leading up to this game to make sure everything was perfect. The importing and liara romance bug angered me... but that aside... this game is absolutely brillant... until the ending.
Unless the ending is redone to give us what our Shepards worked towards for three games I will not purchase a DLC just to "clarify" the endings. They were horrible in my opinion... no more clarification needed.
Casey.... bittersweet is watching your friends and allies die along the way as you progress toward the climax and then being able to do the impossible and be victorious. Bittersweet is looking back on all you lost on the journey, but standing beside your love and knowing that the future looks so much brighter because of their sacrifice. THAT is bittersweet.
I hoped beyond hope that Bioware would come through for ME3 in a way no one ever has. It didn't happen. An incomplete game was shipped with far too many bugs and an ending that a vast group of fans hate and don't understand.
Not much else to say really. It's finally hitting me that you guys once again have roped me into a series of games, got me to love my characters and choices, and then for the second time you just flat out nuked me at the end. Recovering from this debacle will take a long time without some sincere work in trying to repair not only ME3, but the relationship with fans that this incident has caused. I can forsee a lot of die hard Bioware fans bailing and jumping ship if you don;t address this in a way that says "Our fans mean something to us and so do their opinions."
That's it. I'll be looking to see what the fixes will be and when they will come... but I wouldn't wait too long.

Unfortunately the entire game would need to be remade to reflect this, so this "compromise" is the result

You know, when you demand a new ending, but cite wanting questions answered and closure for the characters as a main reason why, THAN when they do this stomp your feet, throw a hissy fit, and demand a new ending anyway, it makes you look spoiled an entitled.
I'm just saying that if you don't want to be called spoiled or entitled than you shouldn't play the part so well.
I'm pretty sure that "questions answered" and "closure" weren't even close to the only reasons folks wanted a new ending.
For me I want at least what BW said we'd get ... lots of wildly divergent endings ; No endings with A, B, C choices [which oddly we did get R, G, B] ; choice mattering during the ending ; etc ...

You don't even want a new ending, you want the issue that ALLOWED THE TERRIBLE ENDING TO EXIST, to be fixed, thus providing new many things.
Assets, continuity, and choice need to matter.

The basic structure of the ending is sound, i need additional content though to tie of plot holes, and to make me feel like a goddamn hero at the end. I don't need a new one from scratch.

I can't help but feel that "clarifying" the current ending can only make things worse, either because it'll present even more plotholes or just serve to emphasize how incredibly bleak the ending is.
This, atleast right now I can pretend Indoc theory is true.
