I don't mind an option for Shep to survive as long as something else sucks because of it. Shep lives = 2 billion or so more dead--- that works for me.

They already used "Shepard died" in ME2 then use it again in ME3.

Don't mind him/her dying if you totally screwed up your choices.

Agreed.

Yes i am fine with it. It would be too far stretched if he would manage somehow to get out of that mess alive. It's Reapers we are talking about. There's no way to win. They were there 50 000 years ago for many times. It's not possible to win this by any logic. But at least to give some closure and don't forget that these battles waged for hundreds of years. It's not like one battle and all galaxy disappears into stone age. So some of the team might have survived and had some kind of a life after main battle where Shepard died. So why not to clarify what and why. But not revive Shepard. Reapers not that kind of an enemy that he could win even with whole fleets of the galaxy. Just take a look at ME1 where it took galactic fleet to take out 1 Reaper. So if to follow the lore, there is no way to win. Only to give closure.

I would not care that much if some of my shepards dies. In fact, i would even prefer it over survival of shepards. BUT, and a big BUT, i want some of my shepards to still live after the final battle to take some deserve rest along with his/her LI if he/she survived too. I also wants my squad to get decimated while i'm making the final rush, so shepard can push further. I also want my squads to hold on and carry some of my shepards to victory.

I want the choices i was promised i would have. No more, no less. So to put it in a nutshell, yes, i have no problem if my shepards die in the end, just as i got no problem if my shepard live.

This. Everything needs to come at a cost.

Shepard: A/D
LI: A/D
Squadmates: A/D
Important characers: A/D
Race X: A/D
Citadel: A/D
Relays: A/D
More...
It shouldn't be possible to have everyone A, but it could be possible to have everyone D.

I would prefer my Shepard to be alive at the end and be reunited with her love interest. The current endings are just way to bleak for me.

I pretty much expected Shepard to die, to live on after the events of ME3 would be to live in the shadow of past glories.

That said, I wouldn't be opposed to shep living, only that my expectation was some sort of death at the end of the game.

I'd accept death with a purpose. Something that means she screwed up or didn't prepare or something that meshed with the rest of the choices made through the series.

I would absolutely be ok with it...especially after all the character has been through; just give us a bit of backstory post Shep so we know the outcome of all his/her hard work.

As I'v esaid on a previous thread

I support "Shepard has the option to..."

I oppose "Shepard has to..."

As far as the ending is concerned.,

There should be endings where Shepard lives and is reunited with his/her LI

There should be endings where Shepard lives but some/all companions die

There should be endings where Shepard dies to save the galaxy

And there should be endings where Shepard fails and everyone loses.

I wouldn't mind as long as a pregnant Liara(with the rest of the crew) shows up mourning at a statue of my FemShep after that.

Ofcourse the after dieing cutscene would have to be different if you had a ShepLoo with a different LI, because if you're dating Ashley (for Example), a pregnant Liara would be weird.

Given I don't want him to die or the series to end, then so long as the manner of his death makes sense in context of who Shepard is and what the story has all been about it would be okay.

Shep isn't, for example, going to leap to his death into a shaft filled with energy just because some ghostly child suggested it might solve his problems. Shepard would establish rather quickly there was something out of the ordinary going on with that.

Liara still gives Shep that 'bright horizon' gift even if you have successfuly romanced Ash in ME3.

Not if that's the only option no. I don't mind if a few of my Shepards get themselves killed due to poor choices but there should be ways for him to survive as well. Just killing him off regardless of choice completely ruins replay value.

*Takes a look at current ME3 ending*:?

^ This.

I'd rather live and fade into obscurity than die a legend. Celebrity in any form doesn't interest my Shepard. Do the job, and go home (have to build it, first, in my case). If that's going to be taken from me, it had best be for a damn good reason. "So I can plunge civilization into a dark age and screw over my allies" doesn't qualify.

I would rather we fought our damndest and lost, softening the Reapers up for future cycles, than damn civilization for the forseeable future, become what we were fighting, or compromise what we are as living beings, forcing the change without consent.

Don't really care if a fictional character dies, tbh.

if there where 16 endings and he died in all of them? probably no, but i assume my sheppard would die in a awsome way, i can accept that, like fist fighting TiM or playing chess with the ghost child

I'm totally fine if Shepard dies, as long as it'd written well.

I just want some options with my ending.
