Probably no one.

How in the hell did you let Garrus die?!

Who -could- replace Garrus? The answer is no one.

DD: Garrus?! I would have reloaded and saved him.

Well, I don't think anyone really replaces a squad-mate that died in previous games... :/

The game kills itself over the horror of someone actually letting Garrus die.

I don't like to even think of a universe where Garrus died in ME2 ;)

Garrus can die in ME2?

Edit. Looked it up.

No one replaces Garrus. On Palavan, Liara doesn't go back to the ship stays with you the rest of the mission.

Could I get a real answer? And I didn't "let him die" in me it was my first play through and I want to stick with it.

I'm actually very curious as well. What happens if Garrus and Tali die?  Given the treatment of the Rachni queen, I assume they just magically appear for ME3.

In my ORIGINAL playthrough of Mass Effect 2, I lost a few people on the Suicide Mission. I think there was one ship upgrade I forgot to get, and that led to Jack's death before I even got aboard. So when I got to the Biotic shield choice, it was between Miranda and Samara, and I liked Miranda better and took her, and at the end when her strength failed, the seeker swarms took Garrus :'(

out of all the deaths that occured there, THAT was the only one I was upset about.

Probably no one. He's not an essential spot in the game's story, like Legion or Tali.

Still, he's my favorite character in the game, and I would hate to imagine not having him.

Too much Garrus love here. I'd kill him off before Thane or Legion. I don't like hearing that he tries to romance Tali if your Shepard fails to, either... It makes me think he's just waiting for something bad to happen to Shepard so he can be there to "comfort" her.

There is no Shepard without Vakarian.

You where answered. He's dead. No one replaces him. You're stuck wth Vega and Liara until EDI shows up. Enjoy.

The real answer is no one.  He's not plot critical, so he doesn't get a "replacement" like the council or Tali during the Rannoch bit..

And as for losing out on a squad member... tough s***.

This.

And I don't think anything happens, you just don't get Garrus on Palaven, obviously. Now, if you let Tali die in ME2, it's impossible to broker peace between the Geth and the Quarians, I think.

I don't know abotu Garrus, but Tali's aunt takes her place, not as a real squadmate but for the Quarian bit she chimes in where Tali would have.

Nobody. He just doesn't exist. There's talk of "Where would Garrus be in all this?"
"Pissed off, and right in the thick of it."

dunno about garrus but if Tali dies you don't get anyone though Admiral Zen does periferal tech stuff on the Geth dreadnaught. Isn't an actual companion though.

dunno about Garrus can't let him die if I tried
