And in one cutscene later in the game where Garrus shows concern over Shepard and tells him to get some sleep, now that's Specialist Traynor instead.

I think you can still do them, they just won't be there so it will play out a little differently.Getar wrote...

They just don't appear in those missions, I believe.

They probably just don't show up. The missions aren't really about them .. just happens to include them.

I'm still annoyed that Kasumi didn't die in ME3, or I would have got a perfect ME2 resolution. Yep, even got Zaeed killed after the finale by going back to his side mission and letting him die. The only other survivor was Dr. Chakwas.
This is partially how I've remained sane given the ME3 ending - I haven't played ME3 properly by any standard at all. MainShep is waiting in the wings for an improved finale.

Will there be 4 random Alliance Soldiers , Edi , James and Liara ? Since if you don't have Javik some random Alliance guy will take his place for the speech.

Might as well delete your save.

For future reference if your goal is to get the whole gang from ME2 killed, Mordin, Thane, Morinth and Legion all have unavoidable deaths in ME3 (it's technically possible to keep Mordin alive, but it is extremely difficult). Miranda, Tali and Jack can possibly die in ME3 depending on your actions.CasbynessPC wrote...
My only playthrough so far (which was supposed to be my practice run before my real go, then I never did the real one) was with my FemShep who managed to get everyone except Kasumi and Morinth killed.

Thanks for the heads up! But you are forgetting that by killing everyone except Morinth and Kasumi in ME2, I actually got to kill off Legion a second time, kill Mordin's buddy, plus a bunch of other replacements.
Can Ashley die? I tried really hard but no luck in my runthrough.
Oh and to the person wondering what the speech in ME3 is like if you've lost a tonne of people - random soldiers and the British trailer guy (Colonel Fish'N'Chips) stand in for the dead people. Plus for the final farewell over the long distance holocom, you can only call Kasumi.

As far as I know, the Virmire survivor is immortal.CasbynessPC wrote...

But...
I've heard that if you have a low enough EMS, your two current squad members die when you get hit by Harbinger's beam. I don't think anyone's been able to varify that though, the one person who's talked about it got his low EMS by manipulating his save file which may have screwed with something, so nobody's entirely sure whether or not that's supposed to happen.

She can die if you really screw the pooch on the Udina situation.

Probably no one. He's not an essential spot in the game's story, like Legion or Tali.
Still, he's my favorite character in the game, and I would hate to imagine not having him.
Tali and Legion aren't essential in any part of the story either, Legion is replaced with a "Geth VI" and Tali with a Quarian Admiral.

I did not have Samara on this PT and I was able to do that mission =) you get some different dialouge I guess, since I haven't seen the version with Samara in it. But you get to talk to her daugther. Guess that it is the same thing with Jacob. You will be able to do the mission but that there is some different dialouge.

I'm actually very curious as well. What happens if Garrus and Tali die? Given the treatment of the Rachni queen, I assume they just magically appear for ME3.
No, the game just sucks is all and besides, If that happened then they'd be either reaperfied or resurrected and indoctrinated by Cerberus.

The game kills itself over the horror of someone actually letting Garrus die.

In my ORIGINAL playthrough of Mass Effect 2, I lost a few people on the Suicide Mission. I think there was one ship upgrade I forgot to get, and that led to Jack's death before I even got aboard. So when I got to the Biotic shield choice, it was between Miranda and Samara, and I liked Miranda better and took her, and at the end when her strength failed, the seeker swarms took Garrus :'(
out of all the deaths that occured there, THAT was the only one I was upset about.
I hope you learned you lesson in not picking Miranda to keep up the biotic barrier. Despite all her bragging only Samara and Jack are able to to finish that level without collapsing in the end.
