He's a real dick... I keep wanting to bring him with me but when I do I regret it. He's not... A playful/awesome jerk like Jack. He's just a jackass, like Ashley
Agreed. He's so one dimensional, and that dimension sucks. Also the voice is completely out of place. Oh my god. That's probably the worst part of it for me.
Him and Liara pretty much ended up as my go-to lineup after taking everyone else along a couple times. They both had pretty good dialogue, and ensured every time I charged something it exploded. ♥ Dark Channel.
And I actually think he was one of the more well-written squadmates in the game. Considering how he's pretty much Shepard from a cycle where organics failed, I'd be suprised if he weren't at least a little bitter about it. His take on things was a little one note, but it was interesting to see the thought process of another culture. Not enough radically different persectives in ME, considering how many aliens there. I really dug the accent as well, not sure why so many people consider it "out of place" just because it isn't one we typically see in games.
I 100% think he should have been in the main game though, and I'm pretty disapointed he got moved to day one DLC. As well integrated as his dialogue is with everything else, there's no way i can see him being developed seperately.

I liked everything but his accent. Claiming the design was inspired by samurai/ancient far-eastern culture and then have an African voice seemed...off. The problem is that most Americans (the largest part of ME players by a huge margin) would associate it with Jamaica before Africa. As a result, I kept thinking he was supposed to be some stoner reference I didn't get. As a result, I stopped dragging him along and went with the time-proven stratagem of bringing whichever squad-mate carries the most firepower. It wasn't until after I beat the game and was emotionally devestated by the ending that I find out Javik is Ethiopian or something, and I felt like the accent was even more random.
Vorcha would have been cool. Didn't I turn over leadership of the Blod Pack to a Vorcha? That guy owes me one. He can go up and die after a confusing lecture by starchild.
well think about it, i have no official base but i would think the african accent would be to incinuate his ancient origin, you know how they say humans started in africa, i think it makes perfect sense, fits his character, and his backstory.
but anyway i ike him, the twist of the protheans not asctually being only 1 race and them being more imperialistic was pretty cool, plus the awkwardness of him communicating with us "young ones" its the only time ive seen in any work of entertainment were someone who is from the past is actually having trouble adjusting to the "antiquated" tech of the future. it's an interesting dynamic

I had assumed me3 would have ended with Javik sacrificing himself in place of Shepard to take out the reapers...... that theory didn't last long.
That would've been so awesome and fitting.

You know what makes no sense? Him coming out of the Normandy in the ending. I thought he wanted to die fighting the reapers.
He is very clear on his plan after the reapers are out of the equation: going to meet all his crew and probably, commit suicide.

I think that only happens when he touches the shard. He wanted to write a book with Liara in my second playthrough.Statulos wrote...
