Very well written character in my opinion. He was not what I was expecting at all. When he disclosed that the Protheons used to enslave races in that matter of fact way I nearly fell out of my seat !
Same Here. I thought he was a very interesting character ( right up there with Mordin Solus ) and I especially enjoyed his interactions with Liara and his discussions with Shepard, I also loved his trip to the Citadel ( and the Hanar's reaction to meeting him ) and taking him to Thessia. I don't use him much in combat but I enjoy having him on the Normandy to interact with.
Admitedly my initial reactions to Javik wern't favorable. I did not care for the character design, ME1 and ME2 established that Protheans looked very different, Javik looked to much like a Collector and I did not like the fact that the Protheans appearance had been ret-conned ( yes, I now know that 'Prothean' is general term to descibe the fact taht the Prothean Empire was made up of alot of different alien races so his design is now acceptable ). I also had some choice comments about his accent, some of his dialogue had been data mined from the demo and put on youtube and I initailly found it to be offensive ( as a man of colour who was born and grew up in the Caribbean ) and I thought Bioware was making fun of people with accents ( I have a very heavy accent ), well now I admit I was wrong. His voice sounds alot better in the final game and it suits him very well.
