Maybe, maybe not. If whatever they have planned for the ending isn't up to the quality I've come to expect from them, they'll have to earn my trust again.
Is ME 3 the last BioWare game you're buying?

Posted this in a similar thread:
The more I'm learning this week, the more I'm pretty sure I'm done. At the very least, I'm never pre-ordering again. I will not buy another BioWare product unless it's been out for some time, and I can be assured by people who have played it that it is worth it.
In other words, unless BioWare redeems themselves and learns from the mess they've presided over for the last two years, it's looking very, very unlikely.

I might buy DA3 second hand just to see if they mess that one up too.
No more pre orders.

In truth, I'm likely to buy another Bioware game in the future. Probably not at full price, and definitely not pre-ordered. It depends on how Bioware handles the ending fix and how good their next game is. I'll wait until other people have played through to the end before I buy no matter what!

I planned on buying Generals. Well, not anymore. Unless they fix the ending.
You make good games Bioware but to disrespect your fans THAT much is just unexceptable.

No but probably the last pre-order I give them.

Posté 24 mars 2012 - 08:43
that depends entirely on Bioware. If they fix the ending, then no, if they simply provide some filler scenes about the epilogue then yes, this is the last game I'd buy from them.

If the ending stays the way it is, then yes, I won't be buying DA3, ME4 or any other game BW comes out with. My faith in Bioware will be as broken as is my faith in Blizzard. And that's saying a LOT.
A half-assed ending fix from Bioware will end in the same result as well.

ME3 is the last video game I bought. Don't get me wrong: I loved the game and the trilogy from start to the very finish. I just don't have time for games any more.

No i will probably give them one last chance with DA3. If they do not make a superb game this time around (like ME1 and 2, DA:O) then im done. But they are on thin ice. All of this depends also on what they are going to do about ME3.

If the ending fiasco isn't tackled in a satisfactory manner, then no more new Bioware games for me. Which will be easy, since Mass Effect is the only Bioware franchise I care about playing. If they come out with a ME4, and the fans like it, then I'll buy it used (Once again, assuming the ME3 endings are not fixed in a satisfactory manner).
However, regardless of a good "fix", there will be no more pre-orders or Collector's Editions for me. I'll just hold off until player feedback comes in. If fan response is positive, I'll pick up a new game from Bioware. Better safe than sorry.

I want to add...
I think a lot of us are struggling to come to grips with a new reality, a reality we don't want to face or admit could be true: That BioWare, a company many of us have counted on for quality products and services since the late 90s, has evolved and changed in a way many of us don't appreciate and are not comfortable with. We are coming to terms with the reality that our personal definitions of "BioWare" and the kinds of thoughts we associate with it, no longer apply.
It's like learning one day that a common English word that you have used regularly has evolved to mean something completely different without your knowledge, and you can't help but reflect on all those times you used that word, wondering if you had inadvertantly said something terrible when you were simply trying to make conversation.
Less complicated example.. it's like one day being told that down is now up.
After Dragon Age II, many of us were worried, but figured, "hey, they'll pull it together", but now, after Mass Effect 3, we're seeing a trend instead of a fluke.
For many of us, I think this isn't just about losing faith in a company, but being forced to redefine something we don't want to, because we don't want it to be true.

I will never write off a company like this. Let's say BioWare release a Mass Effect 4 which is ten times better, has twenty squadmates and co-op story mode. Still going to boycott BioWare games? Didn't think so.

I think ME3 was Bioware's second chance for alot of people.

After 5 years of investing time on Mass Effect then giving us a lousy ending because they wanted it to be "Controversial" but ending up back firing.
Do they really expect me to invest more time and money in a game they release?
Here's my ME3 translation with my relationship with Bioware....... -100 Reputation.

Depends entirely on how this situation with the ending is resolved. There's a fair amount of Mass Effect merchandise I'm interested in, but won't buy if I'm not satisfied with the solution Bioware provides. Can't see myself buying any Bioware products, or even EA products if I'm not satisfied with the ending. Might resell the games too, haven't decided yet.
I hope to gladly give Bioware more of my money for quality products, but I'm scared of seeing a resolution to this that just leaves me embarrassed to be a customer and fan of their products.

Likely. After the very much yawn inducing ending of Dragon Age 2, and the rage-inducing bungle here I've lost faith in their core selling point, engaging story. Then add in the price they are asking for DLC and its kinda sucks.
Still, it does hinge pretty heavily on if the ending fixes appease me or not. I want to feel like I have some element of choice in the ending. I also really damn well want to see the different endings vary as much as Shepard and everybody they love dies, vs. Shepard brings all the little blue babies over to "uncle" Garrus's place.

It breaks my heart thinking about it... I still have: CDPR and Bethesda on my "buy without question" list...but...
I'll think about it.
