Actually, a lot of people prefer her voice. Many people, like I, think Meer's voice sounds really monotone and unemotional.

But it's kinda silly to question someone's opinion. We like what we like.

Huh. For me it's the opposite. Meer at least seems enthusiastic. It sounds like they dragged Femshep's actor out of bed.

Haha, that's fine. Not everyone sees or hears things, in this case, the same way. Just wanted to let you know a lot of people actually do like her voice. A lot of people like Meer's, too though ~

People definitely seem to hear different things. I can't stand Meer's acting, it's flat, his deliveries often lack context and it always drags me right out of the game. Hale is a great voice actor, she's consistent and her deliveries strike a perfect balance of Shepard simultaneously being a written character and a character whose actions and personality you guide.

I prefer Jennifer Hale's voice and I prefer playing female characters in RPGs.

I prefer Hale's voice acting over Meer's, although at times she has a tendency to "over act", you can really feel the emotions.

I prefer Jennifer Hale's voice acting to Mark Meer. Also, I've always wanted to see an awesome sci-fi movie with a female lead and Femshep does it right. She acts just like Broshep but shes a women.

For me, FemShep always sounded like a real person with consistent emphasis. With Meer, the way he says lines makes it sound dry and scripted.

My first shep was female. For me Jennifer Hale has always been shep, and did a fantastic job too.

im not saying i dont enjoy mark meer (super excited he,Lance Henriksen, and Adam Baldwin will be our city's comic con this year) but Hale knocks it out of the park every damn time.

I personally much prefer Hale's voice acting, but I also just love femshep as a heroine. Its refreshing to see a female character who doesn't play the damsel in distress or wear skimpy outfits as the token eye candy. :P

I just think she rocks :D

I like them both. But if i had to pick, it would be Jennifer Hale. Even if Mark Meer has greatly improved over the years.

Again, it's personal preference. I actually also ADORE Meer, he's perfect for MShep's voice, a soldiers voice. Especially in ME3, when Shepard is really beginning to break.

I guess so. I just prefer MShep, because I don't like playing women in video games. Again, not because I'm anti-feminist, because I am a feminist, but because lots of people play women in video games merely for the sexual factor (notice how there's really only two heterosexual romances for Femshep in ME3...).

Jennifer Hale is a substantially more experienced voice actor and it really shows. She's able to get a lot more emotion out of her lines than Mark Meer is. A lot more.

Jennifer Hale is awesome. I always play as femShep, so maybe I'm just used to her voice, but I can't think of anyone else out there that would do a better job. Jennifer Hale IS femShep to me.

I keep trying to like Mark Meer's voice, but I just...don't. I did one male Shep playthrough, and that was enough. The biggest problem for me is that he puts me to sleep...

So for you enthusiastic = "I am clearly reading these lines off a script."

Really, in ME and ME2 that's the sensation he gives to me too.

That's probably why you don't like Hale's voice acting, because of your own preference to playing a male character. Don't worry, not judging, it actually perfectly normal in a lot of people.

My boyfriend has preferences to playing female characters over male characters, it's why he dislikes Meer's voice acting greatly, while my cousin, who prefers male characters over females, finds Hale's voice acting boring.

I loved her voice; I'm actually a RL female Marine, and she says things that I've said to my squadmates from time to time, HAHA. and she delivers them the same way I would have, or other female marines I worked with did. That level of realism, for me, is what sold it. Male Shep sounds like an actor delivering lines; FemShep sounds like a big godamn hero saving the day.

I prefer Hale's voice to Meer's. Its a matter of preference though. We are designed to respond differently to different things like sights, smells, and sounds.

I tried to play as a male Shep but it just wasn't working. My fiery red-headed femshep is the only Shepard capable of saving the galaxy in my eyes.
