I normally hate boycott bandwagons. But I'm on-board.

"Clarification" can kiss my ass. I could clarify why my dog crapped on your doorstep, but that doesn't change the fact that there's crap on your doorstep.

Agreed.  It's pretty hard to clarify the steaming pile of poo we were given in what was IMO at least a 10/10 game up till the last 10 minutes.  A alternate DLC is pretty much a must and I'm still clinging to it being free as I don't think we should have to pay for a fix.  If we re charged for it, what's next, paying for patches and updates?  Paying for additional content I'm fine with and understand from a business perspective but I would advise a boycott if BW tries to make us pay for a PROPER ending.

Essentially, it sounds like Bioware is making a video-game version of those "I don't think you understand the ending" threads we had popping up, like we're ignorant of what's going on.

I will settle, because the alternative is they don't and this whole universe ends for me. We got their attention that's all we can ask for, but I don't want this company to die. And these people don't work for free.

I can live if it is really really well done clarification that shows that galactic civilization isn't screwed, like showing them developing super fast FTL drives or something.

However, it would be easier and a safer bet to satisfy more people to add alternate endings, or scrap the godchild sequence or go with the indoc theory.

Everyone one of us needs to post at least one thread or comment everyday on every videogame related forum they are a member of. We can't place all our eggs in one basket (BSN) - we need to take the fight to Kotaku, IGN, Reddit, Gamespot, Twitter, Facebook, Giantbomb, Gametrailers, and so forth.

Obviously many are already doing this, but if I am guilty of posting strictly on BSN then others must be as well. We need to prove that the endings are a issue for more than the "passionate fans of BSN".

I don't understand this threads of people getting ahead of themselves. Why don't you wait for them to say it will cost money before complaining about giving money? You're starting to sound like the catalyst. (queue the "yo dawg" meme).

From the sound of it, I get the feeling that they're going to release what basically amounts as a defense of the ending. I can't 100% say that this will fail, but I think that it will come out as "You guys just don't understand." and serve to anger/alienate people even more.

they do that and I will glady trade in all 3 games, sell every bit of ME merchanidse I have nad be sure to spend my pennies on games that do not have bioware on the cover.

Dude, that's proven. I don't have to go to those forums to see they are already complaining. Bioware has more metrics than us on this, obviously that's why the co-founder addressed this himself.

Don't get me wrong, I will gladly pay for an end-game DLC with additional endings. Its the fact that Bioware seems to think we'll pay them to hold our hands and explain the ending to us.

We need a LotSB-scale DLC. Anything short would fail to resolve the plotholes or do justice to the series. I don't know why EA wouldn't want to just make more money. Do they think that if they don't stand by the "writers", that Hudson will jump ship? Do they think we care about his "vision" anymore?

Simple economics may yet win out. I wonder when the next EA shareholder meeting is.

I will settle for "clarification" & "closure".

Thats what happens when you have realistic expectations.

Why not use fan-fiction for alternate endings? If Bioware created them, they wouldnt be considered cannon in any case (because Bioware clearly has a vision of where they want this franchise to go).

Im sorry but I think alternate endings would still have a bitter taste, because you would all know that what you are playing is fake.

If you cant handle what Bioware gives you, then by all means, stop buying their products.

If Bioware would be more direct and honest about their motives and intentions, I might not distrust them as much as I do now.

Their PR department really, REALLY sucks.

Pretty much this.

BioWare, you ruined your magum opus with ten minutes to go.

I don't want anything that tells me StarBaby is still canon - unless it's revaled that StarBaby is Harbinger.

This... although even with HarbyBaby, it's still massively disappointing.

Garbage with more clarification is still garbage.

Yes, but imagine if every one of us did this on a consistant basis. Its easy to ignore one frequent protester. But several hundred? Not so much.

I am obviously referring to sites that are not BSN.

It's a video game, it's ALL "fake". You can't just say "Well, if a part of a game is just horrible and makes no sense, don't blame the developer, just make it up!". Why bother buying the game in the first place then?

We could just stop buying from Bioware completely, instead we're giving them a chance to earn us back as customers.

I'm seeing the me twitter like this:

We're not going to change the endings, we're adding cutscenes to clarify this and MAYBE add other outcomes based on what players wanted: choice.

Half-full glass? Blind hope?

Clarification could resolve some of the plot issues with the normandy, and perhaps they'll show more space magic that doesn't leave the galactic fleet and earth completely raped by the exploding relays (either with system-destruction like The Arrival DLC, or with ship-destroying waves like what hit the normandy, which if it can break a ship can probably break everybody still alive on earth's surface, and then send the fleet crashing down).

But clarification would have to be really thorough to resolve why the hell Shepard would go along with any of the choices the kid offered, 'cause killing everybody and stranding all the ships on earth is definitely not the way to Take Earth Back. Basically I think 1-3 additional choices are required at the end, in addition to some interactive dialogue with the kid (assuming the kid is important and they don't want to cut him out, 'cause of Art and stuff).

A decent number of people just want an epilogue, clarification. Myself included. I don't think the star child is the ending of the century, but I can deal with it. Lack of an epilogue is what got me.

I'm glad this topic is coming up more and more, it's one of my biggest fears and Bioware need to understand it.
