This seems like a gameplay issue, I'm playing my ME3 full playthrough where I try to do every little quest and hitting a bit of a issue.
My problem is the quest log shows the same prompt whether the system is currently unreachable, if it's already been found and just waiting to be delivered, or whatever. It probably wouldn't be a big deal if I hadn't literally flown to every system availible looking for Dakunna, only to have it finally pop up a couple of missions later.
Maybe a small option to grey out currently unavailible quests, to have the text turn red when you've found the item would help. The grey out option seems a requirement, but turning the text red upon retrieving the item would help in the oft chance that I don't immediately associate a non-descriptive popup about war assets with my current objective.
Oh, and if it's already a option, please take pity on a fool  and tell me how to turn it on.

Agreed - this was a step backward. I don't know why they didn't keep the ME2 system....

There'd have to be a good reason not to use a currently implemented system like that, maybe the disc space was just a little too tight to include 2-4 status updates per mission to keep players on track? Anyways, with there being word of updates and future content, I'd be thrilled to see a simple inclusion in a patch for these problems.
The only quests that were a real issue were the ones that didn't tell you a specific system to look for or that the system was currently inaccessible. Have any of you had different problems with the system that I overlooked in my first post?

Well just looking at the galaxy map percentages usually takes care of that.
