I've signed all the petitions that have been posted so far and Retake has my complete support, but, at this point, I'm just too frustrated to stay on the forums any longer.

I don't believe Bioware is truly listening to the outcry for change, or they would have done/said something at this point to diffuse this incredibly damaging PR situation they find themselves amist (and Dr. Muzyka's statement says absolutely nothing). If they are really going to hang their hat on "artistic expression", then the tiny shred of respect I still had left for them as a premiere RPG developer has been irrevocably severed.

Honestly, this isn't the same Bioware that gave us all the great titles up to, and including, DAO. Every release since then has had less and less RPG elements, which I could even live with because it was the story that drove me to play the games. Now that even appears to be compromised. What could possibly be more important to a trilogy of games/books/movies, etc. than the ending? It's truly baffling. Please don't suggest I "didn't get it" -- I did and it was underwhelming to say the least.

At this point, however, I really have to be honest with myself that they have clearly gone in a different direction and are not looking back. I'm sure they hope that "time will heal all wounds", and by the time their next release is ready, everyone will line up and be eager to pre-order (and I'm sure some will). I will not. RPG is my favorite genre (and Bioware games have been my favorites within that genre), but there are others, and Bioware isn't making games of that caliber anyone.

Given the lore inconsistencies, shamefully sloppy ending to an otherwise great trilogy, and tacking on MP to even see a 'last breath' as a bonus to MP players, I just can't keep making excuses anymore. Where's my bonus as a SP player who did absolutely everything there was to do in the game? It's simply ludicrous. The statements regarding MP prior to release, and even after, have been duplicitous at best (and I'm being very, very kind in using that word).

For me, at some point, I just have to let go and face the reality of the situation. I can't adequately express how much it saddens me.

Please don't imply I'm not a 'real fan'. If I didn't care so much, I would have moved on as soon as I finished ME3 and never looked back (the same way Bioware has left me in their rear-view mirror). The fact I've spent sooo many hours on these boards since I finished playing a few days ago is a testament to how much Bioware games have meant to me, and what an extremely loyal fan I have been for the last 14 years.

Oh, and Bioware, in case you actually read this post, please understand that my home represents a great deal more than just a single purchase. I purchase for myself, my children (teenagers) and my children's friends at holidays and birthdays. I easily purchased 6 additional copies of DAO after release between holidays and birthdays for my kids' best friends. I did buy this for myself and my kids, but their friends are on their own this time around, and I will suggest they give it a pass or play at our house.

I really hope against hope that this situation is adequately resolved for all the gamers. For those who enjoyed the ending, I am truly happy for you and wish I could say I felt the same way. I just can't.
