I'm fine with what we got. While the galaxy might look like a bleak place for generations to come, you still succeeded at stopping the Reapers. Which was the premise of the trilogy.

One of them a happy ending with Shepard and her little blue babys.
And an reaper victory ending (the cycle continues) would have been nice too.
And more endings between them.

Babies with Ash would have been cool too.
Edit: With her new look the kids would have been dam cute!

I'd have liked a happy ending. I'd have settled for one that
1) Made sense based on the things that came before it
2) Didn't pile on additional dei ex machina until the plot went away.

If the player is only given options to sacrifice himself, it is a forced sacrifice of the playable character.
So yeah, a happy ending would have been fine with me if it had been something hard to accomplish.

Same here. I can understand why some people are distancing themselves from the idea of a happy ending since that's been used as an excuse to trivialize the movement, but in my opinion we DESERVED a happy ending as one of the choices. I hate the term 'sunshine and rainbows' because it completely negates the sacrifices and loss that make up the first 90% of the game. A true victory would never be without its price.
Yeah, I don't get that. Who gives a damn what those people think? What do they matter?
Have some self-respect, people!

I wanted to see Garrus and Tali hook up.
I wanted to see the Geth and Quarians working together on Rannoch.
I wanted to see Thessia, Palaven, and Earth being rebuilt.
I wanted to see the Krogans finally getting a chance to rebuild Tuchanka.
I WANTED BLUE BABIES DAMNIT!!!

Billions of people are dead. Millions more will die of wounds, disease and starvation. Characters we know and love personally have already died.
The ending was never going to be "sunshine and rainbows" but there's a world of difference between that and just being "dark" for the sake of it.

Somewhere down the line though I want my Shepard saved, met up with all her favorite crew members and then ride off in to the sunset with Kaidan to live happy ever after - retired from war or something! They deserve it.
