This is ALL hypothetical
If your choices were a Bioware that had the ability to make and create it's own games, or a Bioware that had to follow whatever EA told them...which would you rather have?
I've mentioned it before, and if true would NEVER be backed up by Bioware (unless they were all fired), but what if the entire endings were DESIGNED to destroy the Mass Effect universe?
On purpose.
To make it so there could be NO sequels, NO MMO's, NO FPS's, nor anything else in that universe beyond ME3?
Why would Bio do this to their own franchise?
What if it were a choice between dancing with the devil, or succumbing to him completely?
What if they didn't WANT ME to become an MMO, or anything like that? What if some other entity wanted to take the ME series in a direction they did not want it to go?
What would be the easiest way to keep creative control? Kill the ME universe?
Not that this has any bearing of truth...BUT...if the choices were Bio can utilize whatever creative and artistic means they have with ME3, but will lose much of it in the next game...would you still be against Bioware's ending?
If they did that ending in order to retain the artistic vision...or at least the companies visions of the ME universe instead of having it corrupted by another influence...would you still say they need to change it?
What if, by changing it, it would mean the dissolution of Bioware or the end of Bioware as you know it?
Would you defend Bioware...or would you argue it still needs to be changed?
My personal thoughts are that Bioware will be moved by another force regardless. They can kick a little against it, but ultimately, it will be only in show. In that light, they may as well try to retain what good graces they have for the present, as eventually as other forces act upon them, they'll be able to look back and say...at least we had that moment.
So, at a minimum tweak the ending, but change it, since as with the Reapers...the rest eventually looks to be unavoidable anyways.
But, if given the lose/lose choice of...defend bioware's endings as they stand and let their individuality in this game stand...
OR.....
Have Bioware cater to the masses, change the ending, and in doing so lose the individuality of Bioware...making it so that everything else they put out from now on is at the beck and whim of those they serve (and I'm not talking about fans or the public...it's more direct than that) and basically lose what makes Bioware...Bioware....
Which would you choose?
Let bioware live for the moment and keep their "artistic vision?
Change the ending and let bioware die?
Would you rather Bioware destroyed or Bioware still alive and kicking? How badly do you want another ending?
