On Insanity it`s pretty nice to have the Adrenaline rush ability.
So I prefer Soldier too.
Soldier is my favorite class...am I alone?

The soldier is just damned good fun. Take any weapon, add bullet-time, WIN!
If anything the only reason I swear off of soldiers is I want more of a challenge. Sure I can shoot my way through the game and its damned fun, but it the same as any other shooter. In my case I want to ramp things up. Take only a pistol and kill things in pure style. Torture and play with my pixilated opponents before flinging them off into space with a well placed pull throw combo. Dance around the enemy formations, disregarding cover and common sense with biotic charge.
I like the soldier, you do feel like you're playing a one woman army. But I'd much prefer playing a walking terror like the vanguard or adept, or an adaptive character, like the engineer or sentinel. Color me crazy but I just prefer finding ever more exotic ways to kill people.

Soldier is tons of fun. I did my first ME1 and my first ME3 playthrough as a soldier. Fully upgraded incendiary ammo for me, plus squad cryo. In most situations, I would enter a room and strip shields and barriers with disruptor ammo and kaidan's overload. Then, I would have liara cast a singularity towards unprotected enemies, while kaidan detonated it with reave. Finally, my soldier would clean up by popping off headshots with a scoped mattock and adrenaline rush. BOOM

Adrenaline Rush does not offer as much weapon damage as it did in ME2. There was a post on this some time ago.
