Mass Effect 1 had a more intuitive and accurate system for tracking mission progress and information. This would be a simple patch job compared to the other complaints, so please release it in some future update.
Hey, it could be worse...they could fix the journal the same way they fixed the import face bug...

They can't' do that. That would be compromising their "artistic integrity."
Exactly. The way the journal system is right now is exactly the way BioWare wanted it. Don't step on their artistic integrity by trying to get them to make the game better. The nerve of some people.

I could overlook the awful journal system if the horrid ending was fixed for all time.
That's comparing apples and oranges.
Navigation affects replayability as much as anything.

People you need to talk to are marked on the maps, except for a couple that are bugged. If you're trying to use the journal to find someone on the Citadel, you're doing it wrong.
Trying to use the journal like it was used in the last two games. IE: Very well.
Keeps track of quest progression, where you need to go to, what you've picked up and what you haven't, etc.
Not to mention the other two games didn't stick you at the bottom of a list of already completed quests every time you opened it, thus making the very first second you're looking at your journal a chore.

I'm really a bit baffled by what happened to the journal. I just don't see why they'd change it like they have.

Shouldn't we save "very well" for methods that actually, you know, work?
I'm just pointing out that you do know where you need to go on the Citadel. Doesn't help with something like the Book of Plenix if you can't remember whether or not you've got the book , of course.

Oh, yeah. That's just silly.

Where did you hear that?
It would be nice if Bioware were really going fix it.

The journal systems -do- work in the first and second games. As for knowing where to go, that's good if you're a marathon player like some of us, but a lot of the fans play for an hour here and there, and have jobs, and kids, and reponsibilities. I'm sure having a very basic system that does it's job would be great for those that take prolonged breaks.
Again, like in the last two games. The structure is all right there, but for some reason Bioware didn't see fit to use it.

That's just silly. The more times you play the game, the better you'll be able to remember where stuff is!<_<
