I'm really curious how adding new content to 'clarify' will lead to various endings which reflect our decisions.

No idea. I'm a bit more interested in the logic behind the solution. Avoiding sarcasm, I just want to know what makes it so infallible.

That is a logical thing to do. Any having more endings would continue the proud Bioware RPG-tradition.

Actually, they should remove endings if they want to continue the Bioware tradition. Three is too many.  BG1 and NWN1 had one ending, BG2-ToB, KotOR, and DA:A had two. DA:O had one with some  flavor variants.

ME3 has one with some flavor variants too.

Well if indoctrination theory is true then that's to be expected. I don't really see how they could actually cut out the current ending and replace it with a new one (and they shouldn't do that because some people like the current ending, and the new one could be a lot worse as hard it is to believe)

I dont think they can remove anything
because some people already got those endings

I don't see how they possibly 'clarify' the current endings besides indoc. theory which I would like but doubt.

And DLC is optional anyway, you don't have to download it.

Hmmm.. I really don´t like they way they put that statement. It could kinda put the problem back again. What i don´t understand, why not add endings??? Why just have one?? In mass effect??
Look at Dragon age origins, that is an excellent ending right there. So please bioware. Fix this the right way. Please.

They can't really drastically change the ending.

I hope this DLC (or better, patch) is free, and if it is not, then I'll have to see what others say about it first before buying it.

Of course it's The Indoctrination theory with every little thing in the ending happening in Shepard's broken/falling apart mind symbolizing Hope and Never giving up or backing down followed closely by the real ending via DLC(EA's disgusting little fingers just like the Day 1 DLC) where Sheppard draws breath and so on...Prince of Persia did it disgustingly tasteless,Fallout 3 as well, why not Mass Effect? Hope it will be worth the price...Good luck and have a nice day.

This surely is disrupting their plans for future DLCs (because they were there all along), so they have two optios: a) make it cheap and release it for free, as to avoid the outrage, however I don't think it will please many fans, B) release enough content for it to be called a expansion and make it worth buying, this would literally break their previous plans and pose the risk of not recovering their investment. However, if they did decide to add these endings with some decent aditional content a la Cerberus Network, things could get interesting...

It's a pity, because whatever you do, the "your choices matter" idea is going to be reduced to a few numbers and not mean anything at all.

Honestly no. not for me. For me Bioware needs to come out and admit they were wrong at this point and give us a new ending. The god child needs to go and the relays need to exist and not just blow up. We need a satisfactory ending not some bs about building synthetics to kill us so we dont build synthetics that kill us.

Edit: The blog by the foudner of Bioware said basically the same thing as that twitter. They are going to BUILD on the end, nothing about changing it.

And for the record while I'd pay for a new satisfactory ending I will not be buying any DLC until I get it.

For goodness sakes, could they just patch the actual continuity problems, like teleporting crew members? I mean, the ending is awful, but seeing people who were in London, oh 15 minutes ago on the Normandy is the sort of sloppy BS that would get your story flunked in a creative writing class.

I wasn't entirely fond of the idea for a whole overhaul, anyway. I'd frankly be happy if they pulled the Indoc Theory and made it canon.

Gameplay is the main problem. There has to be some in there, dunno what, but to get that in there they'd have to go with Indoc theory, and 2/3 people's Shepards will be dead. Not to mention how are they gonna explain what happened to all the different species while giving it "closure"? They'd need to get a ton of voice actors back in a hurry.

It just seems like an impossible DLC to pull off. Looking forward to seeing how they handle it though.

The game finishes but what is there it's not an ending.
When the real ending will be available (and I'm sure it will be free) it will add to the decisions you made in this pre-ending.

I really don't mind, as long as there is closure to the story, extra dialogue, plotholes filled in and a more diverse ending instead of them all being virtually identical. and add an epilogue thing too

DIscuss

Do you think that is enough? Will it satisfy the fans?

For reference, here is the list of current endings:
ME3 Endings List

Is it enough to satisfy the angry fans?  I doubt it, but I think it's all we could have expected.

I'm wondering how they'll clarify blowing up the universe and stranding everybody.

As long as there's a varying, satisfying ending to all the different races and companions, I don't care if Shepard dies. I just wast to know where everybody ends up in a way that makes sense.

And the list of current endings is extremely poor. If focusses on just a few details while we miss the bigger picture.

how did they blow up the universe?

and maybe they leaving room for ME4 to keep story going? lol

Destroying the relays creates a supernova that destroys everything in the neighbourhood, including the victory fleet, earth and all major planets. All three endings show the relays scatter. The universe as we know it, seizes to exist.

I hope they clarify teleporting final squad and what the **** the Normandy was doing by the Sol Relay.
