You gave the Mass Effect 3 fans a Prothean so give us a Darkspawn.

I made a thread asking for this before and it got loads of support and since Bioware is looking for suggestions i request a disciple companion! it would be awesome maybe it could become human at the end of the game for its good deeds or even a love interest! this is a serious request besides the love interest unless some of you actually have a feetish for darkspawn. But other wise i ask Bioware to consider it just look at the Prothean javik you made him into one of the best characters that ME has ever had!. The same could work for a disciple/Darkspawn companion.

I'd say it would be challenging but worth it.

Would take major handwaving to stop all your other companions (and yourself) from turning into ghouls, though.
Unless you just happen to go all-Grey Warden route, but I'd prefer the series turns away from Darkspawn and Grey Wardens.

How about no darkspawn in the story?

I distinctly recall ending a Blight 10 years ago. Darkspawn on the surface should be rare.

you mean like how all the non grey warden party members from 1 (everyone who wasn't The Warden, Alistair, or the Mabari, cause let's face it, hes technically one due to his immunity to the taint) and everyone who wasn't Anders from 2 managed to not fall to the taint when getting their blood all over them?

A) It doesn't happen automatically, some may be more prone to be affected by it.
B) Your companions in DAO were handwaved and even then could be vouched that they did not spend majority of the year drenched in darkspawn blood.
C) Hawke and co. only fight Darkspawn on about 6 occassions (Prologue, Getting Ironbark, Sundermount in front of hidden Thaig act III, Legacy, Deep Roads and Deep Roads revisit). The longest of which (Deep roads at end of Act I), someone DOES fall victim.
D) If a companion, they will be exposed CONSTANTLY as opposed to aforementioned only-during-some-fights.
E) Awakenings already stretched the Darkspawn concept, why should they still relevant in a post-Blight scenario? ESPECIALLY if you killed the Architect.

Unknown Warrior is correct. It's one thing to be in the presence of a darkspawn for the span of a battle, it's another to be cuddling up to a hurlock next to a campfire. It'd need some serious handwaving.

It's not the same thing, as the Protheans weren't bad guys (aside from the Collectors, who weren't really Protheans any more).

as badass as it sounds. It doesn't make any sense to bring this fella into a tavern and expect people to not give a hoot.

Better yet, make it DLC that's available on DA3's first day of release. :pinched:

I have wanted a darkspawn companion since Awakening, but I think the chance passed.

If they did though, I simply imagine they would have him cover his face for the majority of the game.

And yes it would almost certainly be day 1 DLC.

you mean how like no one was remotely questioning the Golem? or the fact no one noticed Hawke was a blood mage if he used blood magic in front of them?

I have been asking for this for a year. I think having a companion darkspawn would give us a new perspective on them and maybe make them not seem like the mindless creatures they were in DAO and DA2.

Yes please!

Im sure they could write in some magical solution to this problem. Besides I wouldnt mind some hand waving if it leads to a interesting and different companion.

As for the darkspawn concept Im not asking for hordes of darkspawn. Im askinf for one of the disciples, ONE. If he is part of your team then he would have a reason to travel with you and be on the surface.

Also I really dont want to see the darkspawn story end. Coripheus and The Architect have been two of the most interesting plot points in both games so far. It is also quite obvious with the way Legacy ends the Coripheus is coming back and maybe the Architect if you let him live. Eitherway I would really like to explore and learn more about the original magisters and since there story are tied so deeply with the darkspawn I would be ok seeing more of them.

Aaaaaand how are you suppose to bring him inside cities? As a trophy-bot?
Unless he got some permanent enchantment illusion or shapechanging item. Darkspawn is not like Geth, Wardens can detect them...unless you implement anothe "wondrous item of darkspawn concealment"

True he would need some form of concealment, how about a hood? Isn't that what the messenger wore in one of the epilouges?

Just make it a leftover from the Architect's little scheme in Awakening. Easy.

It presents an interesting question, though: what are you going to do about all the random outbreaks of darkspawn plague that follow him around (which is what happens if you let that one talking darkspawn go in Awakening... possibly the one time I've ever felt like an ass for being honorable, that...)?

He covers his face. No, really; that's what it says in the Awakening epilogue. Mind you, he also inadvertantly infects innocent bystanders with a fatal, extremely agonizing disease, so... yeah...

Lol, you guys, lol.
This is a forum where people got ABSOLUTELY furious that BioWare handwaved away Leliana's death (even though that occured only in a very limited amount of saves where you personally kill her if you vandalise the ashes) and you lot are asking:

1) To handwave away taint
2) To handwave away people not paying attention to your Darkspawn companion
3) To handwave away that Grey Wardens can sense them
4) To handwave away the Architect's research (because I distinctly recall The Messenger being the final disciple)

Might as well give us a blood mage Dwarf templar companion.

Ugh ... as long as I can kill the guy the moment I meet him, I guess ...

The whole idea is much too "special snowflake" for my taste. I like my settings grim and realistic. This isn't WoW. If you want to turn it into that, do it in a way that doesn't affect "my" playthroughs. :D
