Lol, you guys, lol.
This is a forum where people got ABSOLUTELY furious that BioWare handwaved away Leliana's death (even though that occured only in a very limited amount of saves where you personally kill her if you vandalise the ashes) and you lot are asking:

1) To handwave away taint
2) To handwave away people not paying attention to your Darkspawn companion
3) To handwave away that Grey Wardens can sense them
4) To handwave away the Architect's research (because I distinctly recall The Messenger being the final disciple)

Might as well give us a blood mage Dwarf templar companion.

Any companion would be better than Sebastian. As far as the handwaving, in DAO you had a giant rock person following you around. In ME2 there was a robot companion who was very similar to the ones that tried to destroy the cutadel 2 years ago. ME3 gave you the last surving prothean which are almost revered by some of the races. So yeah they can pull it off, though i personally would like to see something else, probably easier than they could a corpse possed by a spirit.

like i said, no one seemed to mind the sodding Golem walking around anywhere (very few dwarves reacted to Shale for that matter), and like others brought up most people thought the geth attacked the Citadel, bringing Legion with you? hardly anyone bats a eye. same with Lavik, the last Prothean, a species whom everyone got their technology from and thought extinct for 50,000 years, with the exception of cutscenes, no one seems to care.

face it, outside of cutscenes, no one would notice.

also the taint? how is it none of the main party members that weren't wardens (You, Alistair, and Dog (if hes not the Human Nobles Dog who seemed to be completly immune to it altogether)) didn't get the taint when they get absoulutly covered in darkspawn blood?

as for hiding him, the Messenger covered his face if you let him go so.........cover his face.

Nope. PC could get tainted by him.

2) To handwave away people not paying attention to your Darkspawn companion

Nope. If the Messenger from Awakening can avoid people realising he's a darkspawn, a companion could do similar. Plus, if Isabela can choose to disappear when the PC enters the qunari compound, so could a darkspawn companion in crowded places like a tavern. Wouldn't be as big an issue in the wilderness.

3) To handwave away that Grey Wardens can sense them

Why? It'd be cool if a GW did sense him and confronted the party about it.

4) To handwave away the Architect's research (because I distinctly recall The Messenger being the final disciple)

Doesn't make the Messenger the only disciple still out there. Neither does it mean the Architect stopped his research.

Might as well give us a blood mage Dwarf templar companion.

Mmhm.

Not that I'm agreeing with a darkspawn companion, but I had a soft spot for the Messenger. The idea of a cloaked hero who tried to save people from bandits and 'do good' but could also inadvertently infect them with the taint tickled me.

Anybody here remember Goris in Fallout 2? Big friggin Deathclaw who wore a cloak except in battle.

That's all they have to do. Have a Disciple (who could very well be handwaved as being able to control their taint, or better yet, have the player or another party member have a chance of being infected- the Grey Wardens could even sense the Darkspawn companion, confront the player, and with the right dialogue option, look the other way and perform the Joining on the dying party member) who is disguised by a cloak most of the time, but when battle starts, he dramatically tosses it into the air and charges at the enemy,

And let's face it. Disciples are awesome and they need to make a return.

It sounds better than Sebastian. Why not?

True that. But I'd rather have Herbert the pet rock than Sebastian as a companion.

If we have a darkspawn companion, every other member of the party better be grey wardens, or we should have some of us turning into ghouls.

Not necessary. Armaas was promised protection from the Darkspawn corruption and he hasn't been corrupted due to his work with them.

That means that the Architect has figured out some way for society to live side by side with the Darkspawn without suffering from the corruption the Taint brings. At least from association. Sex would probably still cause corruption in a female.

Poor Darkspawn, FOREVER ALONE.

However, I do want Grey Wardens to confront the PC about having a Darkspawn companion.

That's been somewhat debated, I think the only conclusions that we can draw are (1) that Armaas' immunity was most likely granted to him by the Architect himself, maybe through his own powers, since (2) it is canon that one of his most advanced disciples, the Messenger, does transmit the taint without apparently having very close contact with people.

That doesn't mean it's no longer possible. There's nothing keeping the remaining Disciples from continuing his research, possibly finding out how the Architect did what he did -- I highly doubt the Architect wouldn't have any research notes on that subject, since his research is focused on how the Darkspawn and Thedosian society can live relatively in peace with one another.

Additionally, epilogues are now hearsay and rumor. While I'll maintain that it's canon until contradicted, I don't think epilogues should be used as proof anymore. Simply a "Well, this may have happened" scenario.

Maybe if their voice doesn't grate my hearing.

It was tiring listening to them talk in Awakening.

hoping for it, it would be great story wise, we'd learn more about them, can they be trusted? live on their own without ending up as a threat, that'd make some tense relathion ship between your member

Uh no, there are alot of different possibilites they can explore when it comes to companions but please no darkspawn, I prefer running my blade through them instead.
