If you HAD to choose, Geth or Quarians?

I thought that the climax of the Quarian-Geth conflict was beautiful. The choice, in particular, was really cool --  with absolutely no conclusive 'right' answer. Every way to end the conflict was 100% rationally justifiable.

Sure, peace would be considered the best possibility, but at the time there were significant reasons to doubt it.

So, if you HAD to choose Quarian or Geth, with no peaceful resolution possible and knowing only what Shepard would have known at the time of the choice, who would you choose?

EDIT: Also, please refrain from nihilism.

I'd choose the Quarians.

-Sure, they started (and perpetuated) the war, but there are innocents within the fleet with no desire for war. The very nature of the Geth necessitates that if the Geth killed the Quarians, every single Geth would be culpable.
-Legion was becoming very difficult totrust, because it stopped trusting Shepard. It sprung the Primes without telling anyone. It kept Reaper upgrades to itself. It decided the lives of all off-planet platforms were worth more than an entire race and culture.
-There are sizeable numbers of on-world Geth. If Legion was willing to sacrifice some Geth (who aren't fully individualized at this point) to save both Geth and Quarian, he'd have postponed the upload.
-Despite being fully capable of doing so, the Geth never once responded with attempts at diplomacy instead of military might (in the current conflict). All diplomacy had to come from Shepard.
-The Geth knowingly sided with the Reapers. Furthermore, there was no guaruntee that the Reapers couldn't find a way to conrol them again.
-Betraying Legion makes it die in a much more dramatic manner. Also, Tali uses a murder knife! (this one isn't serious.)

In fact, for these very reasons, I chose the Quarians over a peaceful resolution in my second playthrough. If I ever play ME3 again, I may end up killing the Geth more often than brokering peace. To me, it seems to be the most secure choice given what Shepard knows at that point in the story.

EDIT: BSN format fixed. Some clarifications.

It'd have to be Tali vs. Legion for me, and since Legion dies in a stupid way, Tali, and therefore quarians.

Quarians. Geth have shown one too many times that they are susceptible to a simple programming rewrite, while an organic requires the actual effort of direct indoctrination. Plus they've been shooting at me for three games, about time I turned the tables.

I would choose the Geth. They got attacked for no reason. All they wanted to know was if they had a soul. Poor little guys

Geth, Quarians are the bad guys here, in the past and in the present no doubt. Having Han Gerrel with Loghain's voice makes me hate them even more and the fact that fires ona ship while you are on it.

Neither. If I ain't allowed to make peace between them, they can figure out their problems on their own.

False. They are desperate and armed and have 2 douchy admirals. They are not bad guys. I also recall the geth commiting genocide against the quarian race. Neither side has moral highground.

The Geth tried peace during the Rannoch war, and after it failed they learned that the Quarians could not be at peace with them. They stopped trying. And I think that Legion thing was just bad writing. I would choose Geth anyway.

And besides, I'd rather keep Tali and lose Legion than lose them both.

Probably the Geth. The Quarians went ahead and attacked the Geth in spite of the looming war in which they were sorely needed. Also in spite of my Shepard's warning and discouragement in ME2. Not like it matters in the end anyway, but if it did.

Edit: Not to mention all those loose cannon admirals on the flotilla...

Geth.

As much as I liked Tali the Geth didn't do anything wrong.

Sure the Quarians are in the wrong.

But saving the Geth (who have turned on you twice now) just seems wrong.

Depends on which Shepard I'm playing! They all have different motives. My one would have tried to save everyone. One would side with Geth, one would side with Quarians. If the one that wants to save everyone had to choose... probably Quarians. She loved the Geth, thought they were fantastic, but couldn't allow for them to destroy the Quarians, even though their Admirals leave something to be desired at times.

Quarians. Not that I like them better than Geth at all. In fact I'm as close as you can get, to being a racist against an imaginary race.. But they're still organic. Sorry Legion.

Geth, to be honest Legion is the best advocate.

I would probably pick the Geth. In ME1, I had sympathy for the Quarian. But as you learn more about them in ME2, and learn a lot about what they did in the Morning War in ME3, I just hate them more and more.

Don't they all die anyway if you pick the destroy ending? The apparently perfect ending...

from a personal standpoint, I like the geth, they are far less narrow minded and as you said the Quarians started and keep starting the wars. The Quarians have innocent people but the geth are by and large almost entirely innocent in my eyes.

From a gameplay standpoint. I like having the engineer in my team and seeing as how tali is incredibly useful imo I'd hate to have her kill herself. That and in my only ME3 playthrough my shep was tappin that.

Though I do miss tali telling her drone to "go for the optics"

Geth. The Quarians would all be dead if the Geth had not let them go even after the Quarians tried to wipe them out.

Even -then- the Quarians attack them again even with the Reaper threat.

 Geth. The Quarians never learn.
