Han Gerrel and Xen only with the fleet behind them would have meant no more quarians.
But with Tali and the civilian fleet, I couldn't really say.

I'd still pick the Quarians.
Even if they have evolved, The Geth are still just machines, they are not living creatures,
Even if Han'Gerrel is a moron, you can't judge an entire species based on a few bad apples.
Just like how you "Can't condemn an entire race to extintsion based on what might happen, a'la Krogan"
That's been the whole underlying argument of the series apparentley, Organic vs Synthetic.

I can't justify killing either of them so i'll go with the Quarians just because of Tali.

Quarians. I don't want to kill children, and civilians, just because their leaders forced them into going ahead into a suicidal war. I like the geth, they are one of my favorite race. But there you go.
And this is why this question is so interesting to me.
If a race doesn't resemble our own, organics have children, do they automatically get knocked down a notch. Are we more likely to make that rationalization. The Geth are anthropomorphic, but they are still sufficiently different that we draw those differences along broad lines.

Besides the Quarians deserve it, It's not Han"Gerrel that made the decision ultimately, it was the Conclave which voted and agreed to go to war.

Oh yeah, Tali is my LI. Most awesome character in the game if you ask me. Couldn't let her down.

Geth. the quarians were definitely at fault.
Not only were they at fault, they were getting their ass kicked in the battle you were listening to. If purely as a tactical advantage, go with the winner, the Geth.

From what I saw. The geth were losing so bad they had to abandon their ideals and side with the Reapers for help.
Also, I would have probably been a lot more sympathic towards the geth if Legion wasn't constantly being shady as hell. Legion, you were supposed to be my bud? Why are you lying to me about all this Reaper code stuff?

Quite a tough question. I'm happy that the game made resolving the conflict an option.

This is all pointless, though, because in my game I convinced the Quarians to stop being stupid and making the Geth act in self defense.

Kinda hard to side with the Quarians when they're always the aggressors. Not to mention Gerrel was happy to order the attack the Dreadnought with Tali and Shep still aboard with no qualms at all. Fat chance I'm just letting that slide
