So if people hate Ashley because they think she's "racist", then why do they like Wrex and Javik?

I really don't understand why players want an apology, nor do I see why it's needed. Maybe after Horizon for the back-stabbing comment (even though, it's technically all true). Guess some of ya'll are the sensitive types?

Basically most of you guys want these apologies:

I’m sorry I got upset that you cheated.
I’m sorry I didn’t agree to work with a terrorist organization.
I’m sorry I asked a question (personally my favourite).
I’m sorry for my tone when I talk.
I'm sorry I function like a human being.
I’m sorry I had concerns about complete “strangers” coming aboard a classified military ship.
I'm sorry I was born.
Ect.

A classified military ship co-developed by Humans and Turians, who she also had problems with.

When did Ashley call out Turians?

Mass Effect 1, I think memory serves me right.

The wiki says something along these lines:

"She questions the wisdom of allowing Urdnot Wrex and Garrus Vakarian to wander around freely"

But no, I can't pull out an exact quote.

People don't like real hard women with an opinion that differs from them. That sums up any hatred for Ashley.

Yet KotOR2's Kreia manages to avoid my hatred, despite meeting all your criteria.

Exactly no quote.

Yes, Ashley does question it. However, they ARE complete strangers picked up freshly off the street. Who in the right mind would trust individuals like that at first? You don't know them, and they don't know you. They're unknowns and you're allowing them to watch you're back with a gun? Wrex is mercenary who even physically assaulted Shepard before coming aboard. I think her concerns are more than justified. Hell, most soldiers wearing your colours aren't allowed access to everything, and Shepard just lets randomers?

Near exact quote:

"I mean Vakarian and Wrex. With all due respect, I don't think they should be allowed to poke around the vital systems. [Bear/Dog story] It's not racism - not really. Members of their own species will always look out for themselves."

It would be different if she hated the turians her grandfather surrendered to, but she spreads her dislike to all aliens, even if she's more subtle than, say, Pressly.

How many times does this have to keep coming up?

Ash is specifically referring to the Keepers.  She can't tell if they're sentient or not.  For that matter, neoither can anyone else.  The fact that she says it in other places is an acknowledged bug that never got fixed.

Even if you take it out of context, it says a lot about her character and is a damning thing to say.

Aliens =/ just keepers. Otherwise, she would have said just keepers.

No, she wouldn't. She's inexperienced and truly doesn't know what it is. I believe her exact words were: "What is that thing?" when she saw the keeper by the relay.

Doesn't change the fact that she says that exact phrase.

 Butt-hurt much? Image IPB

Ashley sent an apology for calling you traitor on Horizon (even though, it's techically true).
If I recall, Tali didn't join Shepard at first either, she had things to do... people to REPORT back to.
Because apparently people hate that Ashley asks TWO questions on Mars.
Lol wut?
How so? Explain.
True enough. But it's still owned by the Alliance. It is THEIR ship, and it has THEIR top-secret information on it.
By being another "yes man" ? How would you like her to improve?

Nah, I have nothing against her personally, just her attitude. She's still a talented soldier... but so is Kaidan. (and biotic/techy at that.)

Yet she left the door open to help you later, and did. Ashley did neither.

Way to pass judgement on someone after a 2-minute conversation.

Where did I ever mention Ashley asking questions? It's her lack of apologies for those questions (compared to Kaidan) that I take issue with.

Actually, it's MY ship. And I have no intention of explaining myself to my Gunnery-Chief.

Anderson gave me executive power over it. The difference is academic.

Though it was the Council that wanted Tali on board, not the Alliance, if you want to get technical.

Which is, again, because Thane, Garrus and Jacob are stand up guys.

And Miranda isn't? The one truly questionable thing she wanted to do (the control chip) she apologized for, twice. And she turned away from TIM also.

MegaBadExample wrote...

Believe it or not, she's allowed to be upset about the fact that the man she loved left her for the "perfect" woman.

And Kaidan can actually order you out of the room.

They're different people, and react differently. Kaidan is a good bit older than Ashley, and it does show sometimes.

1) No she's not, not after Horizon.
2) No **** they're different people, which is why I'll always go with Kaidan.

That's the definition of being given command of a ship. You have direction on what it does and where it goes, WITHIN YOUR COMPETENCE. A Captain doesn't make a decision that rightfully belongs to an Admiral.

I don't particularly like treason, especially when I have to do it as a playing character. In the Witcher 2, you get the choice whether you want to side with one group or the other. BioWare just didn't have the imagination to do something like that in ME2.

Ash kept a healthy suspicion of Shepard's motives and loyalties. When she was convinced, she stopped. End of story. If you can't accept her apology for not trusting you, that's your problem, not hers.

@Optimystic_X

That's because Tali finished her mission, and got permission to leave. Ashley didn't and couldn't.

"I can't lose you a second time." Besides when you're standing there in the enemies colours, it's common sense that she'd think you are in some way different. Experiences change you. That, or coming back from the dead.

Not you, personally. Other folks.

It's not your information, though. I didn't know being in Command meant you own it now.

Not hard for her to trust you, really. I couldn't get Ash to turn on me if I tried (seriously).

That just makes it worse by her being ignorant. The keeper could be a senator for all she knows. She obviously knows where she is at the time. No, if I happen to stroll on a galactic space station someday knowing billions of aliens are there, I wouldn't refer to them as animals the first time I see them. If that is her first impression of them, then she views herself on a podium as a higher being. This is something racist people tend to do.

@Foxhound. Nope, she's told that the Keeper is a maintenance drone. She literally can't tell the sapient/non-sapient species apart. Outsider's perspective, not higher perspective. You're grasping.
