If she should mistrust anyone, it should be the Alliance and humans. They're the one that screwed her family, not the aliens. And she only protects the council because it part of her job as a spectre. This is the same person that tells you to let the council die in ME1.

And marveling at the DA doesn't prove shes not a racist.

And I guess the line where she says "I hate these alien racists" just doesn't do anything for your extremely skewed viewpoint.

And she reccomend that the council live for me, so arguement invalid.

Not only is she one of the most disloyal teammates, she is a complete killjoy. People don't have to accept everything Shepard says, but if I wanted somebody that would never give me any charity despite my merit, I would have recruited the Turian counselor.

Tali is a racist, too, but Wrex has a legitimate beef with the Salarians. He was perdsonally sterilized by their bio-weapon. Ashley and her family were never done any harm by aliens, only humans and the VERY military organization she works for.

And Garrus gets away with being slight whiny because he's a loyal badass behind it all. Kaiden is not.

Ashley's family was screwed over by the Alliance. Her grandfather surrendered, and saved the colony in the process. If modern militaries are any sort of analog to the Alliance military, his first sworn responsibility is to protect civilian lives and he did exactly that even if it cost him his career. That's the first thing Ashley points out defending her grandfather during conversation in ME1.

Hell, I remember some place in the lore (I can't remember where) the turians of all people regard Williams very highly for his rationality combined with his solid strategies during the Shanxi siege, whereas they view other human commanders as highly irrational and generally worthy of little respect.

See my post above. Tali has no excuse for her racism, but Wrex has every right to be suspicious of salarians. Espcially considering they not only sterilized them, but corrected the stelization and tried to sabotage the cure.

I like all three of the characters. The way I see it:

Javik: Essentially someone who grew up in a time where close minded thinking and blatant racism was okay and encouraged. A crotchety grandpa.

Wrex: The Krogan are a race that is always getting culturally stepped on and looked down on by a vast majority of galactic society. It's okay for him to crack jokes about other races, but say one word about the krogan and you get stomped. The krogan don't want to be considered second class anymore.

Ashley: The Archetype of someone raised to be prejudiced against those who are different, but through constant interaction learns that the preconceptions that she grew up with are wrong.


And that's why I like all three.
