If they really do just clarify, also excluding Indoct theory, Bioware loses another customer in me. We asked, and pleaded. We even stated we would wait so it'd be good. They just gave us a tootsie roll when we asked for a Hersey bar.
Close analogy.
Gave us fecal bar shaped like tootsie roll.
Asked for tootsie roll composed of chocolate.
Offering Hershey's Bar. Of same fecal matter.

To add to your interpretation...
Since we know where Bioware wants to go with ME4 after the game, the mass relays destroyed and possibility of synthesis (Maybe that was just Casey Hudson).
When we get past the destruction ending, and get to the real ending we can either destroy the reapers or choose synthesis (With a breif dialog where the reapers beg for mercy.) however the only way for either to occur is for the relays to be destroyed (But with the clarification that this does not cause a supernova). But before you do, you can warn your fleet to return to their home world so they are not trapped on earth. (Still would lead to the deaths of many on the depleted home world, but sacrifices must be made.)
As well on the way to the real control panel, you have a real confrontation with the illusive man.
For the indoctrinated ending, you unwittingly allow the crucible to used for synthesis, followed by the confrontation with your LI or Liara (If you are a lone wolf.) The mass relays end up being destroyed in this ending as well (Again without going supernova).
No confrontation with the illusive man, as that would destroy the illusion. Lol.
There is no real world option of controlling the reapers, as the idea of controlling the reapers was just part of TIM's indoctrination.
Edit: I think this be my head canon even if they don't fix the ending in a redeemable way.

We can speculate and imagine all we want. Bioware can go and do whatever, frankly. My point is that in Mass Effect 3, there were two stories being told simultaneously, but in capitalizing and banking on one, the other was ignored and negated.

Maybe the announcement is the movie takes place directly after me3?
Its a quirky homeage to gilligans island, but this time its a tropical planet. It starts Rob Shneider...
Ok that sucked, I'm dead inside.
How much chance of success does a movie have after this? This is an epic disaster that puts the entire franchise on the line. Who do they think would go see a Mass Effect movie?
Not sure if you were catching my sarcasm and agreeing, or not catching it and agreeing without realizing it? Didn't get enough sleep last night heh

It's like they're not even trying to hide the fact that they're turning the series into a joke.

There's no real "throw in the hat" idiom, but to throw one's hat in the ring means that one is "joining up" with something, which would seem to be the opposite of the OP's intention.

Clearly missed explanation of inebriation.

Goodbye Bioware. Bethesda is working much harder for my money.

Dear Vromrig. Love the Mordin posts. Please hold out until April. If it turns out that we're getting "clarification" then we can all go out in style together. In the meanwhile, your post are some of the best on this forum!

I particularly like how the tweeter hasn't even completed the game.
I saw that. I don't understand how he can even have an opinion on it if he hasn't gotten there yet.
But we must also keep in mind that they've already had trouble with the nameless social network people saying the wrong things.
However, like I said elsewhere, clarification is NOT the problem here. It wasn't hard to follow, the problems run much deeper than that. What with the whole taking player choice away in lieu of three almost identical outcomes, and not actually basing it on anything prior to that point. Or the whole, A/B/C thing...

The only thing about them that's identical is that the mass Relays blow up. That's it.

Mass Effect 2 only had 2 endings, people didn't seem to care. Huh funny, Mass Effect 3 has 3 endings. CORRELATION??? OR COINCIDENCE??

With the difference that ME2 was not advertised to have 16 different endings.
