I bought it hoping it would be "video-gamey", seeing as how it is, in fat, a video game.  I can honestly say it was not for "artistic integrity"

I buy video games to have fun. If i wanted art, i would pay an artist to make a massive painting of myself. Because I am a work of art.

I bought a game that was supposed to have a good story. What kind of stupid ****ing question is that?

Mass Effect "art": posters, busts, tasteful nudes of Asari in an artistic form

Mass Effect 3: awesome ending to an epic 6 year journey that I was going to get a perfect on because I played EVERYTHING...not only was the ending nothing like that but I would have had to play multiplayer to do it

THANKS BIOWARE =D!

To have an epic fight, kill Reapers and save Earth. And during the game, I had this crazy idea I could build Tali a house. Silly me.

Its ok. I thought Me and Garrus would go to the beach planet and collect royalties from the vids after I married Ash while Wrex got the Krogan on the council and led them into a golden age the likes of which hasn't been seen since the Protheans.

Interactive entertainment.

Now I buy paitnings, prints, etc for art. I sometimes buy comics and even gaming books for the art in them. I love to read, but a lot of it is not really great.

And I draw, but do not call that art really - as I am not very good.

But video games = interactive entertainment

For the same reason I played ME1 repeatedly, and got ME2: to play with the interactive narrative, to see how the narrative possibilities could play out, to choose and build multiple stories about DIFFERENT Shepards, to explore the possibilities of the "narrative space".

I have multiple playthorughs of ME1 & ME2, mapping out most of the narrative possibilities (I believe).

Which is why the ending was such a huge letdown for me: all those possibilities and multiple stories implode into one homogeneous ending which has no variation for anything that happens in the game.

That took ALL the fun out of my saved games for me.

Oh come on, she had a house...on jungle planet...that probably had no food for her...

Man, now I'm sad again!  Such is the fate of Talimancers I guess.:(

I bought it to examine whether or not it merits a spot for display in the Louvre. Obviously its absence in the museum speaks for itself.

I bought it for entertainment and escapism. "Pure art" generally fulfils neither particularly effectively.

To see Shepard (and the rest of the galaxy) kick the reapers in their balls then dance on them (the balls.)
To see Shepard giving Tali all sorts of infections and diseases for the rest of her life.
To take Earth back.

Same here... i have seen this art argument before...... If ME3 is Art then someone spilled all the paint all over the painting RIGHT before they finished it!

Well, let's see. It's a video game, so I probably bought it to play a video game.

I did buy it for art. I consider art to be gratuitous booty shots.

Im tired of people like you saying that..

If you bought a book and the last 10 pages were missing you would be mad....

If you bought a movie and the last 10 mins were missing ... you would be mad

If you bought a car and it would get you almost to work everyday and it broke down in the last 10 miles you would be mad

Escpecially If you were told this where complete working Products.   People like you really need to think before you type!

For the characters, the story, the gameworld they created, the lore, and, oh yeah, to save the galaxy.

Ending literally negated all of that. :crying:

Entertainment.
Cause that usually why you buy a videogame
