If you didn't buy ME 3 for art, why DID you buy it for?

For art I woulda bought Braid, or Limbo..

Or Journey. I'm debating spending $14.99 of the $20 I was saving for ME3 DLC on my PSN account right now for Journey, in fact. :D

I bought this for entertainment. Because I liked having a third-person/shooter experience where my choices affected the story.

I bought it for the conclusion to an amazing trilogy where my choices mattered.

This. I bought it for Garrus, Tali, and Wrex. I bought it to save the galaxy once and for all from the Reaper threat, to finally force those synthetic bastards out of my galaxy and into oblivion.

I bought it to feel like a hero.

A thousand times this. Perfectly stated.

You mean you guys didn't buy the game for the tri-colored space magic? Or the totally illogical finale that does away with most of the established lore? It was in all the marketing campaigns. Oh wait...

In all seriousness, I was expecting to save the galaxy. If my life was forfeit in the process, so be it. Some people would die, but so would the Reapers. I'd go down as the hero. Instead I got "choose one: forced evolution, genocide, or the snooze button". What the hell, man?

I bought ME3 because, I enjoyed ME!, enjoyed ME2 even more, and hoped for a satisfying conclusion to what promised to be a great trilogy, which contained difficult choices, leading to relevant consequences all having a real bearing on the ending.

My hope was sadly misplaced, with the game being a major disappointment in most areas, including, but not limited to, the ending.

Because i played ME1, ME2 and couldn't wait to see how my action shaped the galaxy.

not to have a metaphorical/psychological/nonsens/unique/selfish (choose your pick ) conclusion to the saga with the leitmotiv was " your choice matter ". Art as nothing to do with this. If i wanted to see arts, i would have go to the museum.

On a serious note: I bought it for spess battle with the Reapers since I wanted to see them die and of course, little blue children.

It certainly wasn't to frame it & hang it over the mantle of my fireplace, if that's what you're asking.

I bought it for entertainment, love of the series, and to see how this epic journey ends, based on all of the choices I've made.

And, as GuardianAngel470 said, to end the Reaper threat, once & for all, and feel like a hero.

Unfortunately, the ending discarded all of that.

I bought ME3 because the first two games provided we with a great story, and a universe I loved. It gave me a story I could shape, and it was filled with difficult choices and wonderful character interaction. I bought it in order to feel like a hero an be the one person that could make difference. I bought it because I thought everything I did might been something in the end. I bought it because I thought it would be the heroic ending to a epic story.
