I'm about to finish the last mission. Except there is this marauder that pops up and instant kills Shepard.
Any suggestions on how to get past the creature to get to the beam? I've restarted here more times than I ever had in the entirety of the campaign. Kinda bs that the mega reaper death ray cannon blows up everyone and everyone loses their armor, health, and shields, except for three husks and a random marauder.
final marauder....

That's Marauder Shields, he's the final boss, there to save you from the ending of the game.
Sarcasm aside - Right click, aim, shoot. Go to the beam.

Is this Marauder as infamous as *that* Vorcha Pyro from ME2? Or has he surpassed even that threshold of villainy?

Not sure why everyone had problems with Marauder Shields. If you're good enough with aiming your reticle/crosshairs, headshotz will get you through pretty easy. You're hipfiring which means you need to approximate, but I didn't find it bad, got through in one try. Then again, I went Soldiering so maybe my passive weapon damage boosts helped me out there.
I still think headshots are the way to go. You can get into a nice range for hipfired headshots pretty quickly. He seems to have crap health/shields to compensate for being an almost-dead Shepard. Also, you may want to try upgrading your Predator to max level before attempting. It might be the difference.

So after getting the insanity achievement, I replayed from the restart mission save. On easy, he takes 3 hits. On insanity, he takes 10-12. Also there are no husks.

Never had a problem with him on normal/hardcore... but insanity it took me 4 tries to get past him.
Also took 8 tries to beat Kai leng, but the rest of insanity was easy.

Are you guys using gamepads? How can you be so bad at aiming at something's head? In my insanity run it took a few more shots to the head but it still died easily.

Took me at least 15 tries to beat Kai Leng, and about 12 against Marauder Shields. The battle against the Brutes and Banshees prior to Marauder Shields didn't take me quite as long though. All that was on Insanity too.

On xbox, turning down the controller sensitivity helps a lot. Aiming this guy with a bleeding half conscious Shepard with sensitivity on high is a nightmare. Now I just always lower it to the minimum when I start the sequence and it works wonders.

If you want to make it past Marauder Shields, you have to aim for his head... it's the only way!!
Best of luck to you, friend.

You don't have to aim for his head, people should stop saying that.
Bodyshots will do as long as you don't miss any. Doesn't have to be as fast as possible, take your time to aim and just don't miss.

Are you playing on Insanity?
Becaus on Normal he doesn`t insta kill you, just takes out your shield.
And why does people call it for Marauder SHIELDS?
The Shield part is only becaus he has shield on, when you take that off it says "Marauder health"
It`s name is only Marauder.
