As I wrote in the Problem| Always logged out! topic:

Same issue here, unable to log in. Stays Logged Out and when entering the password in the login UI, the Login button stays greyed out. Assuming the auth/login servers are down. Downloadable Content also displays "--" instead of 0 (like it normally would). The game launches and plays though, but I'll wait until servers are working again (not that you should risk anything by playing offline if you choose to do so). Perhaps it can be related to "The Edge" or something, or even better.. Return to Ostagar?

I can play and use all my dlc. I just can't stay logged in so the website profile won't be updating.

Id be careful with saving you game if its allowing you to do that.
You may end up with corrupted savegames or the Shale bug that a lot of us have when you finally get back online
(everytime you go to talk to shale in camp you get the conversation options of "Activate the Gollum" or "Do nothing" and then the screen clips you elsewhere.

The website profile dosen't update anyway so theres no point in logging in to play.

Player Profile should update with the information you have in your Save file(s). Playing offline shouldn't cause you any specific issues. Only thing I noticed when playing offline before, was that some Achievements didn't list in the Story of the character that unlocked it, but it did however list on the Player Profile 'main page' so it didn't really matter all that much to me.

PS: I read some people saying Player Profiles don't update anyways, wich can be the case for them perhaps, but mine has (not always as fast as I'd like it to, but at least within some days)--so it works for some people, and not for others.

Has anyone actually READ that new TOS??

For whatever reason, the fact that everyone is saying they're getting a new one makes me wonder WHY....

See nothing major new in it, not that I remember the old one. Skimmed through it, and it just looks like a revised TOS, looked pretty standard.

Seems to be gone now. As aforementioned, there was a new TOS and then it'll log in.

'finally fixed it by unblocking a few EA IPs in PeerBlock/PeerGuardian software:
159.153.235.3 and the range 159.153.244.1 to 159.153.244.255

On the DA launcher that shows before you select play, select configure. A windows menu will appear. At that point select the repair choice and then select add firewall exception. This worked for me as well, and the server timed out pop up in game has been happening for me for a few days, right after I first load a game after starting it, even though I am logged in lol

Yep just happened again to me, so X what I said there lol Clearly doesnt work to stop the time out pop up. Which makes me think its to do with thier end not ours. It only does it once and the second it happens I just quit and reload and it doesnt happen again. Still shows me as logged in and my items are there (quick reference would be Lucky stone equiped). So, even though it says in the pop up "Could not load or something another, online item storage..." the items are still there it seems i.e. the lucky stone being present on character. Really not sure what this pop up means entirely, if the items are still there. Unless (taps fingers) It could be that there are items already on the server (thier end) and they have a timeout on to block it until the such time they want it to be accesible to the public? I really dont' know though lol

I've seen this happen across all OS platforms. Usually a game restart fixes it. But their website and online servers are buggy

and if you get "disconnected" while in game, it can possibly mess up your DLC content. It shouldn't according to BW/EA but i've seen it happen to too many people and even to myself.

A few things I do to keep my game corrupt free (and it's been that way through 8 further play throughs)

1) you can stay offline! once the game validates your DLCs.. LOG OUT.... play the game logged out... then once in a while hit ESC (dont exit) and log in for a bit so it can update the website then log out. If you don't care if your stats are uploaded then you NEVER have to log in again unless you BUY DLC. (free stuff is manualy installed and you do not need to be logged in to install or play it)

2) If you choose to stay logged in 100% of the time and you do get a sever error, I instantly exit w/o saving , restart the game and go back to my last save. You should see how many save files I have per run (usually 200+).

NEVER rely on autosave! It only has 4 slots and it will overwrite them! With the sheer ammount of bugs in this game, I rec a manual save every 30-60mins

Once I started doing the above, I have *never* had any further DLC issues.

The game always says I am not connected to the internet which is one of the problems many people are experiencing. I bought the collectors edition and am running it on windowsxp pro. I have however managed to get most of the downloadable content that I am legally entitled to to work sort of. Namely stone prisoner, blood armour, the edge and the collectors edition stuff. I did this by doing the following

go to http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613

download the relevent DLC in section 4 and follow the instructions in section 4.1

The edge and blood dragon armour should now be installed and should appear in your inventory. Stone Prisoner and the collectors edition will be in the downloaded content and will be enabled but not authorized.

To authorize these these 2 DLC's I did the following

Go to \\"My DocumentsBioWareDragon AgeSettings\\" and open the AddIns.xml in Notepad.

Search for \\"RequiresAuthorization=\\"1\\"\\" and change all occurences of 1 to 0. Save and launch the game.

Stone prisoner and collectors edition items will now be authorized.

I haven't played stone prisoner yet so am unsure whether it now works or not but at least I now have the quest and it says it is installed enabled and authorized, so fingers crossed. Now I know bypassing EA's draconian online authorization procedure is probably technically ilegal but so is selling faulty goods and seeing as people have reported this problem since the game was released and Bioware and EA have made no effort to fix the problem or even reply to people on here they leave us no option but to find a way arround it.

I tested out the stone prisoner and the first bit now works where the merchant gives you the rod for the golem. But the map doesn't update with the new village so i'm back to square one, also the collectors edition items still dont work.

I've had the same problem. I haven't logged in yet for today; my mornings start with forum browsing while drinking coffee.

I just really wish BW, my favorite developer, wasn't forced to work with such poor-service houses as Atari previously and Electronic Arse now. It is almost always the publisher who decides on the methods of "copy protection". Having to stay connected for a single player RPG is, quite simply, stupid. I didn't realize prior to buying the game that I would not be able to install on my laptop to play during down-time when not at home. (Unless I want to play a whole new game without the DLC.) I know, my bad for not doing enough research on login requirements of a single player game.
