Kai Leng Plots are Awful

OP, I suggest not finishing the game. If Kai Leng's stupidity made you break your monitor, you'll probably go on a killing spree IRL once you see how stupid the ending is. lol

He's like Conrad Verner, irritating whenever he shows up.
'Cept, I actually do like Conrad.

As I've previously said, the Virmire victim being spirited away and indoctrinated would have been a better antagonist than Kai Leng. I never took him all that seriously.
That actually would've made for a good story. VS gets abducted on Mars, leaving you to assume that they're dead, they later appear under the control of the illusive man, and around the time of Citadel Coup, you have the ability to free them.

Leng regenerating his shields yelling "cover me I needz rechargez" was a little too much though.

If there was Kai Leng from the books, I would happily recruited him to my cause? Then again my inner cerberus fanboy is talking again. I would also love to see T.I.M. as a squad member as well. Then again, there is a lot of things I would want to have in Mass Effect 3.
And A lot more explosions and political manuvers and Death of Reapers. Let every major and minor character kill two reapers.

Some of you seem to have your suspension of belief turned off and on at awkward moments. If you apply the same suspension of disbelief that's required for most of the game to Kai Leng, like I did, he's not that bad.

This. I really don't get the hate and whining on him.Crinkles wrote...
I've got to say, I liked Kai Leng's inclusion. Because I've read the book's plots (though not the books themselves), I knew who Kai Leng was; maybe that made the difference. But I found was impressed throughout the Citadel mission by him, really. He had a great fight with Thane, I liked the car and elevator chases... His plot armor on Thessia was kind of annoying, but understandable. The fight in the Illusive Man's room was great, and finally killing my nemesis was satisfying.

That sort of thing is a clear sign of bad writing, and really disappoints me. I really expected better of Bioware.

For me he really seemed out of place in the ME world.(not read books though)

Nothing worse than a weak, laughable character wrapped in plot armor. If you want to make a villain make a villain.
100% agree. Kai Leng's plot armor needs to not exist, his gunship's plot armor need to not exist, and Dr. Eva's plot armor, well you see where I'm going with this.
What's more, when you shoot at his gunship the game tells you through Kai Leng and Liara that it's impossible to destroy. They knew people were going to shoot at it and they couldn't think of a good excuse to make it invulnerable.

Whoever came up with the Kai Leng character should be shot, drawn and quatered.
I was so frustrated by his aura of incompetency that I literally punch a hole into my monitor.

If you've read the mass effect books you would understand him and his character better, there is a lot of back story in the books. if not I agree he looks a bit of a tool in me3.
Hmmmm I wish I could do that but that would mean spending money Bioware would get. Can't do that. I'm still struggling if buying a used copy of ME2 (mine died) is OK as they won't actually benefit from that.

In my mind after Shepard killed him, I added the dialogue: Back to the Square/Enix universe with you! Don't bring a sword to a gunfight you trite asian cliché. You're nothing more than a watered-down, low-level, Final Fantasy villain. Die!

As soon as he pulled out that damn sword I knew he'd be the most cringe-worthy character in the trilogy. Fighting with a sword would get you killed today, but they're back in style in 2186?

I see people are ignoring the projectile weapon Kai Leng has in his palm. I'd consider him stupid if all he had was a sword. You're also ignoring the effectiveness of kinetic barriers so swords make even more sense in 2186.troyk2027 wrote...
